Corporate Optimization Transport Manager

The Corporate Optimization Transport Manager will be responsible for designing and developing complex transportation networks (Linehaul and Last Mile distribution Networks) from scratch, as well as redesigning existing networks, using the most advanced tools available on the market.
This strategic role involves collaborating closely with logistics, transportation, operations, and executive teams to implement innovative and sustainable solutions that maximize efficiency while reducing operational costs and environmental impacts.
Main functions and responsibilities
Reporting to the Operational Excellence Director, the key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Designing and developing complex transportation networks.
* Seeking and implementing solutions within the area of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), evaluating and selecting the most advanced route optimisation tools available.
* Designing and improving transport related operational processes, among others: Vehicle Loading and unloading, Route Planning, Carrier Selection, Dispatching, Fleet Management, Delivery.
* Implementing and maintaining route optimisation models using specialised software.
* Designing and improving carrier tariff structures.
* Collaborating with logistics, operations, and executive teams to implement strategic changes to routes.
* Monitoring and evaluating the performance of transportation networks, making adjustments as necessary.
* Preparing reports and presentations on the performance of transportation networks and the improvements implemented.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Transport Management and Logistics, or a similar field. Desirable master’s degree or Postgraduate Qualification in Supply Chain Management.
Written and spoken English at C1 level. Other languages are desirable.
Professional Experience
* Minimum 10 years of prior experience in designing and developing complex transportation networks.
* Solid knowledge of transport processes (LTL, FTL, Express, etc.).
* Advanced knowledge of route optimisation software and data analysis tools.
* Experience with customer quality indicators, KPIs, and sector benchmarking.
* Experience in sustainable transport and emission reduction strategies.
* Knowledge and experience in long-distance transport, parcel delivery, and courier services.
* Experience in management positions within Logistics and Transport companies.
* Background in Supply Chain consulting, providing services to multinational clients.
* Knowledge of transportation regulations and standards.
