This critical role encompasses the full spectrum of manufacturing activities, including procurement, warehousing, fabrication, and quality control. The Head of Manufacturing will be responsible for ensuring efficient production, maintaining high-quality standards, managing a team of professionals, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong leader with excellent technical skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and a proven track record of achieving operational excellence.
What do we need you to help us with?
Strategic Leadership and Management (20%):
* Develop and implement the overall manufacturing strategy, aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
* Provide leadership and direction to the Procurement, Warehousing, Fabrication, and Quality Control teams.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability.
* Represent the manufacturing function in interdepartmental meetings and strategic planning sessions.
* Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, including capital expenditures and operating expenses.
* Identify and mitigate operational risks.
Team Management and Development (20%):
* Directly supervise and manage the team leads for Procurement, Warehousing, Fabrication, and Quality Control.
* Conduct performance reviews, set individual and team goals, and provide coaching and mentoring.
* Identify training needs and develop training plans to enhance team skills and capabilities.
* Manage employee schedules, vacation requests, and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet production demands.
* Promote a safe and positive work environment.

Production Planning and Execution (25%):
* Oversee the entire production process, from raw material procurement to finished goods.
* Ensure production planning and schedules are met, while maintaining quality standards and optimizing resource utilization.
* Collaborate with the Sales and Planning departments to develop accurate production forecasts.
* Implement and maintain robust production planning and control systems (e.G., MRP, MES).
* Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
Procurement and Supplier Management (10%):
* Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
* Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements.
* Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
* Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Ensure proper working capital management link to inventory.
Warehousing and Inventory Management (5%):
* Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping.
* Optimize warehouse layout and material flow.
* Maintain accurate inventory records and implement inventory control measures.
* Minimize inventory holding costs while ensuring sufficient stock levels to meet production needs.
Quality Control and Assurance (10%):
* Establish and maintain a robust quality management system (QMS), ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.G., ISO 9001).
* Oversee quality control inspections throughout the production process.
* Investigate and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
* Drive continuous improvement in product quality and process reliability.
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement (10%):
* Continuously analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
* Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
* Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as units produced, production time, defect rates, and material scrap.
* Identify and implement new technologies and methods to improve production processes.
* Translate internal and external customer requirements into efficient manufacturing processes.
* Collaborate with Logistics/Supply Chain to ensure timely delivery to customers.
What type of profile are we thinking about?
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or related field) is required. A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (e.G., Production Manager, Plant Manager, Operations Manager).
Technical Skills:
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (fabrication, assembly, etc.).
* Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
* Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
* Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Language Skills:
Fluency in Spanish (native) and English (C1 level) is required.
