What's the opportunity?
We are looking for a highly skilled Java Specialist to join the Core department. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing and implementing architecture systems that support our current and future Java applications. Working closely with the development team, your primary focus will be to ensure that the solutions are efficient, scalable, and aligned with client requirements. To excel in this position, you should possess extensive knowledge of software and architecture design patterns, along with advanced Java programming skills. It is crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of the department's overall requirements and objectives. By leveraging your expertise, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our technology stack and play a vital role in shaping the future of our department. Your ability to think strategically and comprehend the larger picture will be key to your success in this dynamic and challenging role.
What will I be doing?
* You'll be responsible for week-to-week planning of your team and keeping each member accountable.
* As a tech lead, part of your role is to be a people manager - It's vital you dedicate time to managing your team members.
* You'll be expected to drive technical direction in projects and assure they meet scalability and robustness requirements.
* You'll be hands-on on projects, getting deep into code and be looked upon as the senior authority in software development tasks, projects, etc.
* You'll be responsible for hiring for your team.
* You'll be responsible for communicating and planning between other teams.
What skills do I need?
* Experience leading remote development teams in the past - This could be at a job or working on an open-source project.
* Solid experience in Java application development and / or software architecture.
* Microservices environment (Circuit breaker, Idempotency etc).
* In-depth knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
* Experience with Java development frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
* Event-driven architecture design experience.
* Being a team player, enjoying working with your own team and collaborating with other teams in the organization.
* At least intermediate written and spoken English proficiency.
* Well-versed in the software development life cycle.
