We are currently searching for the best candidates for a Consumables, Consultants & Services Category Manager (BUYER) role, located in Bellaterra (BCN). Customer is APPLUS, a leading global services company.
Mission:
The Consumables, Consultants & Services Category Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for these categories. This role will ensure that procurement activities align with the company's overall strategic goals, delivering cost savings, quality improvements, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Consumables, Consultants, & Services category, and the ability to navigate complex negotiations and supplier relationships. To assure main systemic supplier performance in Key APPLUS projects, he/she will assure APPLUS standard rules are followed by our suppliers, assure the right communication between teams, ensure supplier engagements and denounces whenever it is not respected. Bring visibility over tier 1 suppliers and help project.
Contribute to developing a purchasing catalog, agile procurement process, and TCO decisions, driving catalog usage adoption across all Applus business units and countries. Manage relationships with various stakeholders across divisions while integrating business needs and proposing competitive value-added solutions for the businesses.
Responsibilities:
1. Category Management: Develop and implement category strategies for Consumables, Consultants & Services that align with the company’s objectives.
2. Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks in this category.
3. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market conditions, supply base, and emerging technologies.
1. Sourcing and Procurement: Lead end-to-end procurement processes for Consumables, Consultants & Services, including tendering, negotiating, and contract management.
2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure procurement strategies meet business needs.
3. Develop a supplier base that supports the company’s growth, quality, and innovation objectives.
4. Manage supplier performance, conducting regular reviews and addressing any issues/concerns.
1. Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for Consumables, Consultants & Services to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
2. Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements & risk management standards.
3. Monitor contract performance & compliance, managing any changes or renewals as necessary.
1. Cost Management: Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and service levels.
2. Develop total cost of ownership (TCO) models to evaluate and optimize procurement decisions.
3. Monitor and report on cost savings achieved and projected against targets.
1. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with hub buyers, engineering, finance, operations, and project management teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and budget constraints.
2. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on procurement activities, category strategies, and market developments.
1. Catalog Development and Management in Ariba: Lead the development and implementation of Consumables catalogs in the Ariba system.
2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define and update catalog content, ensuring alignment with business requirements and compliance standards.
3. Monitor catalog performance, ensuring data accuracy, product availability, and ease of use.
4. Work with suppliers to enable catalog integration, including PunchOut and Hosted Catalogs, to streamline procurement processes.
1. Catalog Usage Development Across Applus Businesses: Promote & facilitate adoption of catalog purchasing across all countries and business units.
2. Train and support procurement and operational teams to maximize the benefits of catalog usage.
3. Develop KPIs and reporting mechanisms to monitor catalog adoption and usage.
4. Identify and address barriers to catalog utilization, including user feedback and technical challenges.
5. Act as champion for standardized processes & tools to enhance operational efficiency & reduce maverick spend.
1. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with Consumables, Consultants & Services procurement, including supply chain disruptions, financial instability, and compliance issues.
2. Develop contingency plans and ensure supply continuity for critical projects.
1. Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices in procurement processes and contribute to continuous improvement of function.
2. Keep abreast of industry best practices and innovations in Consultants procurement and Services management.
Requirements:
1. University degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
2. Additional training: Specialized in Procurement in Services, engineering international environment, facility management experience, SAP ARIBA experience.
3. At least 5 years in a similar position.
4. Soft Skills: Negotiation practice, open-mindedness, technological knowledge, financial awareness, results orientation, market and supplier intimacy, initiative, supply chain knowledge, teamwork, organization & management, flexibility, analytical thinking, impact and influence.
5. Excellent spoken and written English (C1).
