Technical Scheme Lead, EU Organic Food Claims (Spain)
Job Description
We're hiring a Technical Scheme Lead for EU Organic Food Claims based in Spain.
Leading the EU Organic Team as the subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the implementation of scheme requirements, and fostering relationships with clients, scheme owners, accreditation bodies, and third-party certification agencies. You will perform a wide range of scheme management and administrative activities with varying degrees of complexity.

Responsibilities
* Taking the lead in maintaining current program accreditations and achieving new accreditations and expansions to scope within given timelines. This includes representing NSF to accreditors and other regulatory bodies.
* Developing and implementing processes and procedures for EU organic certification.
* Managing the application of scheme requirements and supporting positive relationships with scheme owners to ensure compliance.
* Overseeing the development and maintenance of quality systems to ensure ongoing compliance with internal and external KPIs and accreditation requirements.
* Transferring technical scheme knowledge internally through ongoing training sessions.
* Representing NSF to committees, industry task groups, associations, and other external stakeholder groups.
* Delivering technical presentations to manufacturers, trade associations, regulatory agencies, product user groups, and other relevant stakeholders.
* Monitoring regulatory and legislative opportunities and changes and identifying impacts to processes and the business.
* Participating in the development, implementation, and revisions of certification and accreditation policies and guidelines.
* Reviewing records, reports, and other documentation to substantiate and authorize certification, accreditation, and verification.
* Managing stakeholder complaints and ensure they are dealt with to the satisfaction of all parties.
* Leading the expansion of EU organic service offerings within EU member states.
* Supporting development of services in emerging markets by providing risk-based analysis and capabilities to internal Sales and Marketing teams.
* Supporting Audit Delivery function by fielding technical questions.
* Maintaining a positive team-oriented operation that supports NSF’s positive culture vision.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree (post-graduate qualification in Natural Sciences is a plus).
* Fluent in English and Spanish (fluency in other EU languages is a plus).
* Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in EU organic certification.
* Strategic mindset and a strong ability to build and lead teams. Includes selecting and developing talent, building trust, coaching team members, and managing performance, resulting in high performing teams with a solid leadership pipeline.
* Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
* Experience in accreditation audits.
* Travel is required 10% of the time.
