About the Project
The ALFA (Alzheimer and Families) cohort, established by BBRC, is a pioneering research platform with nearly 3,000 participants, primarily first-degree relatives of Alzheimer's patients. The ALFA+ study follows a subgroup of 420 cognitively unimpaired individuals to investigate preclinical Alzheimer’s disease. With advanced neuroimaging techniques, including PET and MRI, the project aims to unravel the disease's early mechanisms and develop effective prevention strategies.
About the Role
We are looking for a PET Analyst to join our Neuroimaging Facility. This role involves coordinating the acquisition and processing of high-quality PET brain images, developing new analysis techniques, and supporting BBRC researchers in neuroimaging studies.
Key Responsibilities
* Image Acquisition: Oversee and coordinate high-quality PET scans with external collaborators.
* Image Processing: Develop and apply innovative methods for analyzing PET data (amyloid-β, tau, FDG PET).
* Research & Development: Implement and validate new neuroimaging techniques to enhance Alzheimer’s research.
* Research Support: Assist researchers in study design, data analysis, and interpretation of PET imaging results.
What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field (PhD in Neuroimaging is a plus).
* Strong expertise in PET physics and neuroimaging analysis (amyloid and tau PET).
* Experience with neuroimaging tool suites (SPM, FreeSurfer, FSL, PMOD).
* Knowledge of kinetic modeling and scripting (Matlab, Python, R) is valued.
* Familiarity with Alzheimer’s disease and neurodegenerative research.
* Fluency in English and ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.
What We Offer
* Full-time, permanent position (38h/week, flexible hours).
* Hybrid work model (on-site + teleworking).
* Competitive salary based on experience, aligned with BBRC’s salary scales.
