Loads & Controls (Service LaC) department is a part of Vestas Service Organization, and is responsible for designing new products and optimising Vestas Service Fleet such that the performance of the Service fleet is on par with the new turbines.
As a Control Engineer, you will be responsible for developing control solutions to address Service business opportunities in compliance with the design standards. You will be part of a global team distributed across India, Denmark, and Spain.
Responsibilities
* Development and tuning of control algorithms
* Implementation of control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink
* Control performance data analysis in turbine/fleet level controller tuning and optimisation
* Feasibility studies of new wind turbine products aiming at optimizing power, loads, and noise performance through innovative use of sensors, controllers and actuators
* Verification on all levels, including software tests and field testing
* Risk management activities such as risk assessments and failure mode and effect
* Develop and support innovation and conceptual projects
* Broad insight and understanding of the turbine components and control strategy
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D in electrical, electromechanical, instrumentation & controls, controls or a similar field
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in simulation/modelling tools such as MATLAB SIMULINK
* Solid competence in mathematical modeling of electromechanical, hydraulic systems
* Working knowledge of control design and control tuning using a model-based control approach
* Experience in Wind Turbine Controls is advantageous
Competencies
* Solid in control theory
* Programming knowledge in C++, SQL
* Control system modelling, controller design, controller tuning & controller verification
* Good knowledge of power generation concepts
* Knowledge of aerodynamics
