Tax Accounting and Compliance Manager
Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Tax Accounting Manager to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role will be responsible for Tax Accounting and Compliance for corporate entities within the Spanish Tax Consolidation Group. The candidate will ensure adherence to current financial and tax policies and regulations, providing accurate and timely financial information to both internal and external stakeholders. This professional will manage the Record to Report - Period End Close - Tax Accounting stream, defining and supervising tax accounting procedures and processes to ensure compliance with Amadeus policies and tax regulations across all Amadeus Group companies. Additionally, this role involves developing the Taxes Accounting team, consisting of two tax professionals, and reporting to the Taxes Senior Manager and BPO Record to Report - Period End Close as the line manager. This role requires solid expertise in tax laws and regulations, good problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and implement complex financial data, and effective leadership skills to support and develop a team effectively.
In this role you will :
Responsibilities :
Tax Compliance:
* Lead the preparation and submission of tax forms (CIT, VAT (including SII compliance and reporting), IRPF, IRNR) to meet legal and tax authority requirements, ensuring no reputational risk.
* Continuously monitor tax compliance duties to improve efficiency in tax cash collections (e.g., withholdings, foreign VAT recovery).
* Maintain compliance with Digital Service Tax (DST) obligations for Amadeus IT Group. Manage and ensure compliance for Amadeus Spanish companies VAT established in other countries.
* Work closely with the Legal Tax Department during tax audits.
Tax Advisory:
* Provide support to other departments on new legislation impacts, serving as the tax reference before escalating complex issues to the Legal Tax Department.
* Recognize and plan for tax impacts in collaboration with the Legal Tax Department.
* Keep informed about changes in tax legislation and ensure the company's compliance with new tax laws and regulations.
Tax Accounting :
* Important contributor in month-end closing activities for efficient and accurate reporting to internal and external parties.
* Manage tax entries (e.g., consolidated corporate income tax, VAT, IRPF, loan other withholdings).
* Supervise quarterly provisions, ensuring proper registration of expenses and provisions related to employees.
* Manage tax effects on Spanish GAAP adjustments and reconcile from IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) to SGAAP (Spanish Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
* Oversee monthly analytical review of Financial Statements from a tax perspective.
Reporting:
* Report tax cash paid forecast and Total Tax Contribution information to Group Treasury, Transfer Pricing and Tax Legal team.
* Lead the preparation of tax information for Corporate Financial Statements (Annual Accounts) and required reports, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
* Identify improvements in tax processes based on updated tax legislation to increase their efficiency and accuracy to ensure high-quality financial reporting.
* Participate in special projects for accurate financial tax accounting and reporting.
Corporate Tax Accounting:
* Collaborate in defining global procedures and act as a reference for RTR (Record to Report) users in Amadeus companies worldwide, ensuring local needs are met.
* Ensure maintenance of corporate tax critical objects (tax codes and reports).
* Define KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure tax process quality, and work on process mining and automation. Contribute to updating process documentation.
Team Management and Engagement:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of two tax professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
* Actively coach team members to think laterally and develop their skills, encouraging continuous professional development and engagement within the team.
* Provide strategic oversight and guidance to ensure the team meets organizational mission, values, goals, and objectives.
About the Ideal Candidate:
* Bachelor's degree or master's in taxation, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification is preferred.
* Solid expertise in tax laws and regulations, particularly within the Spanish Tax Legislation.
* Good problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and implement complex financial data. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
* Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in tax accounting and compliance. Proven track record in managing tax accounting processes and procedures.
* Effective leadership skills to support and develop a team effectively. Experience in leading and developing a team of tax professionals.
* Proficiency in tax compliance and accounting software.
