The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The role
The Systems Architect will be responsible for the correct management of the IT systems hardware, software, and cloud resources. In coordination with the IT Manager, they will define the list of IT Infrastructure services provided to the community and its corresponding Service Level Agreement, coordinating and supervising the hardware, software, and cloud service installation/configuration, maintenance, operation, and monitoring, ensuring high service quality, efficiency, and cost savings.
They will collaborate with the Head of IT to design and maintain the IT architecture in place at the CRG and to uphold the cybersecurity of the CRG. The Systems Architect will supervise the systems administration teams to coordinate tasks and ensure the proper operation of the equipment, software, and services.
The main responsibilities are:
1. Definition of the IT Architecture in place at the CRG
2. Definition of possible improvements of the current services
3. Definition and implementation of new services
4. Implementation of IT processes to automate the work done by the different teams of the IT department
5. Management of the Systems Administration team
6. Direct management, indirect management, or participation in CRG projects where IT is involved
7. Supervision of the Systems Administration SLA
8. Reporting of Systems Administration tasks, incidents, and change management
9. Collaboration in the Systems Administration tasks
10. Management of the current IT services available in the CRG
11. Management of the IT infrastructure available in the CRG
12. Administration of the current cloud services used by the CRG
13. Management of the Cybersecurity tasks
14. Resolution of incidents that can affect the IT services and escalation to external suppliers if needed
About the department
The IT Department is responsible for providing IT services to over 500 users (employees or collaborators) located in the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park – PRBB. The department is divided into three areas: the Helpdesk team, responsible for direct user support; the Systems Administration team, in charge of administrating all IT systems; and the Web team, responsible for web development and support.

Professional experience
Must Have
1. A minimum of five years of experience in a similar job position
2. A bachelor's degree in computing, Telecommunications, or a similar degree
3. Experience in Windows, Mac OS, and Unix operating systems, Unified Communication platforms (Exchange, Skype for Business, SharePoint), Microsoft Active Directory, ADFS, ISA Server, proxies, network, WIFI, SDN, and Firewalls, SAN and NAS storage platforms
4. Experience in standard web environments (Apache, Tomcat, IIS)
5. Experience in Office 365 cloud services
6. Experience in management and monitoring tools (Nagios, Centreon, Cacti, Microsoft Systems Center)
Desirable but not required/Nice to have
1. A minimum of one year of experience in team management
2. Knowledge of ERP systems
Languages
1. Advanced level of Spanish and English
2. Good level of Catalan

Selection Process
