Vestas Development is a newly established business unit within Vestas that promotes new growth while supporting the existing business in all development aspects. The function's main responsibilities are to manage the origination & development of new wind/hybrid projects across the globe. Within Vestas Development, the Commercial and Origination department is overall responsible for the profitable origination of new leads, financial analysis, the deal structure, and finally the commercialization/sell-down after development, always working closely together with the regional development teams responsible for developing.
As Investment M&A Analyst, you will join a small, vibrant commercial team with global reach and broad scope reporting to the head of the analytical function within the Commercial and Origination function. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, outgoing all-rounder with solid problem-solving and communication abilities. A high degree of professionalism and personal initiative in addressing senior internal and external stakeholders is expected.
Responsibilities
* Analyze renewable energy project investment opportunities utilizing traditional economic criteria such as unlevered and levered investment returns and understanding specific inputs or levers that are the key value drivers.
* Prepare project financial models for various development, debt, and equity financed structures.
* Prepare development budget and schedule.
* Create presentations and other materials for key stakeholders including executive management and external financing parties.
* Manage internal and external project diligence and transaction timelines.
* Work on your own as well as collaboratively with various internal subject matter experts to manage substantive issues around tax, accounting, financing, structuring, and legal considerations impacting transactions in wind project finance.
* Review commercial proposals, development budget, and project valuation.
Qualifications
* Master level degree with focus on quantitative analysis (e.g. Finance, Engineering, etc.).
* High-ranking student in your class (academic record will be requested).
* 1 - 2 years of experience from an investment bank, M&A boutique, or investment firm. Renewable energy or infrastructure industry experience is highly valued.
* Fluent use of Excel and financial analysis. We will assess your knowledge with a test during the recruitment process.
* Fluency in English and Spanish. Speaking any other European language is an asset.
