GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for completing a thorough risk assessment, identifying vulnerabilities within a network, and creating firewall rules, or configuring systems to enhance existing security features. They also create policies and procedures according to EDP's group standards to defend network infrastructure in case of a cyberattack.
As a network security engineer, the hands-on job duties include configuring routers, switches, firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), and other network monitoring tools against intrusions.
Main Accountabilities:
1. Analyze and recommend different sorts of architectural networking systems.
2. Coordinate with internal and external customers on all high-level security projects.
3. Evaluate security processes on processing units and facilitate growth.
4. Provide technical support to enhance proper device controlling systems.
5. Implement the security strategy in the sphere of new networking fields.
6. Provide engineering network services to ensure high-grade customer service.
7. Maintain and implement security strategy and standardization methods.
8. Analyze all records and recommend solutions for client-based networking security measures.
9. Provide technical support to log aggregation setup and assist in all response measures.
10. Work and support the Global and local SOC.
11. Prepare designs for improvement of network detection tools.
12. Participate in configuration and management programs to install updated security tools.
13. Implement, configure and resolve networking and security issues at the time of problem detection.
14. Execute day-to-day operations tasks, troubleshooting, and hardware deployments.
15. Evaluate company projects to integrate them into the actual network/systems.
16. Document and execute production changes in environments with strict high-availability, security/compliance, and change management requirements.
17. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
18. Implement and support SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, NextGen Firewalls, Internet, LAN, and cloud network operations.
19. Assist with the design and documentation of network functional requirements to facilitate the development of deliverables such as project-based planning documents, scope documents, and client services communication.
20. Ensure compliance with objectives, organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
21. Compile project reports and inform management regarding problems.
22. Operate services including event management, incident management, request fulfillment, access management, and problem management related to the projects.
23. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. 3+ years providing network engineering support.
3. Experience in design and implementation of radio microwave network solutions.
4. Solid networking foundation including routing, subnetting, VPN, packet filtering/firewalling.
