PURCHASING MANAGER AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Job Summary
Pontest, a worldwide distributor of lifestyle brands, is looking for a talented Purchasing Manager and Business Developer with solid experience in Business Development & Purchase in trading to join our team and help us grow.
We are looking for a professional, motivated and success driven individual who can cultivate key account relationships and develop strategies for attracting new business. The Purchasing Manager - Business Developer plays a key role in a new strategic plan, which envisions continued growth in the EMEA and global market.
It is essential to have experience in trading. The ideal candidate will provide complete and appropriate solutions for every supplier to boost top-line revenue growth, supplier acquisition levels, and profitability. A keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset is required, along with the ability to evaluate market conditions, discover and pursue new purchase prospects, negotiate deals, and maintain supplier satisfaction. The candidate will be responsible for identifying and fostering relationships with our suppliers.
You will also oversee the implementation of the supply and production strategies.
Responsibilities
1. Develop business relationships with new suppliers to identify growth and upgrade opportunities.
2. Actively seek out new purchase opportunities and develop long-term relationships with enterprise supplier prospects through cold calling, networking, and social media.
3. Stay up to date with market news in all categories.
4. Identify profitable product development opportunities.
5. Prospect, search, and negotiate with suppliers.
6. Increase the company's supplier base and ensure a strong presence.
7. Track all orders in progress with staff and team.
8. Present frequent reports and reviews of purchases, expenses, and forecasts to the Director.
9. Process information to perform numerical analyses that generate the best cost-benefit of existing and potential customers.
10. Meet assigned quotas and regularly update supplier relationships.
11. Expedite the resolution of supplier problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant field; Master/MBA will be considered a plus.
2. Substantial experience within European B2B companies for lifestyle goods; experience in other markets and categories will be considered a plus.
3. Proactivity, persuasive communication, and strong analytical skills.
4. Proven working experience in purchase and business development in categories such as lifestyle, fashion, beauty, and FMCG products.
5. Language skills: Must be proficient in English; proficiency in Spanish or French is a plus.
6. Knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices.
7. Working knowledge of MS Office; advanced Excel skills are a must.
8. Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
9. High communication and interpersonal skills, with persuasive ability while negotiating.
10. Autonomous, commercially aggressive, and results-oriented.
11. Ability to evaluate offers and make decisions.
12. Self-motivated and able to excel with minimal supervision.
