Hartmann Young is exclusively partnered with a leading group in the manufacturing of multiple ingredients into multiple markets: food, cosmetics, fragrances. Together, we are searching for a Sales/Business Development Manager to join the growing team. This role is ideal for professionals eager to drive growth and build strategic relationships in an international setting.
Responsibilities
1. Identify and engage potential clients within the biotech sector, particularly in precision fermentation, through research and networking.
2. Develop and maintain strong partnerships, understanding client requirements and securing agreements.
3. Represent the organisation at industry events, delivering presentations on capabilities.
4. Arrange and conduct client meetings and facility tours.
5. Prepare tailored proposals in collaboration with internal teams.
6. Analyse market trends, identifying growth opportunities and contributing to strategy development.
7. Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to strengthen business presence.
8. Assist in contract discussions alongside senior stakeholders and legal teams.
9. Monitor industry developments and competition to inform business strategies.
10. Maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales progress in CRM systems.
11. Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation to contract completion.
Candidate Profile
1. Degree in Business, Food Science, or Food Engineering-related fields (MSc, MBA, or PhD preferred).
2. Understanding of biotechnology, CMO precision fermentation, and related industries.
3. Strong commercial acumen with market awareness and growth strategy experience.
4. Proven experience in business development and sales.
5. Ability to develop client acquisition strategies tailored to market needs.
6. Experience in contract manufacturing processes is advantageous.
7. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
8. Strong negotiation capabilities with a results-driven approach.
9. Multicultural awareness and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
10. Proficiency in English (additional languages are an advantage).
11. Competency in relevant IT tools (CRM, MS Office, etc.).
12. Willingness to travel extensively.
Experience
5+ years of relevant sales/business development experience. 2+ years of industry experience in biotechnology, food and nutrition, precision fermentation, or related fields.
