We are looking for a Program Tech Lead/Enterprise Architect to join our team within the New IT HUB Sales - Retail of the Future supporting the strategic Mercedes Benz Program.
Description of Role and Responsibilities
1. Acting as mentor/role model for other experts and acting as a peer for recruiting of talents (including development and execution of recruiting strategy).
2. Fostering team's understanding of vision, principles, and strategy and encouraging team members to participate in constructive discussions to achieve the best results.
3. Ensuring the execution of technical strategy of the Retail of the Future (VdZ) application landscape with focus on development efficiency and re-usability of components in a blueprint approach to enable rapid multi-market rollouts.
4. Serving as a technical advisor for internal and external development teams in close exchange with solution architects, relevant business partners/stakeholders, and executives.
5. Responsible for implementation in a consistent cloud-native approach by defining non-functional requirements to achieve secure and reliable operations including execution of test strategy.
6. Leading role in DevOps teams to assess engineering performance and develop and apply improvement plans.
7. Continuous optimization by anticipating customer feedback and evaluating operational metrics to trigger effective actions and improvements.
8. Performing solution assessment for technical integrity/feasibility/risk and defining required actions.
9. Contributing to area-wide engineering architecture guidelines.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a STEM-related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with at least 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or advisory role.
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or alternatives are preferred.
Technical Knowledge/Accountabilities
1. Extensive professional experience in state-of-the-art software development environment as a developer and/or architect of distributed, scalable cloud-native applications resulting in profound knowledge in:
1. Software architectures (Micro Services, Domain Driven Architecture, Event Driven Architectures)
2. Programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript)
3. Tools of modern software development (git, GitHub)
2. Strong expertise in cloud-native development and architecture, with a deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
3. Proficiency in DevOps practices and mindset, including CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, SonarQube), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and knowledge on how to apply automation like infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
4. In-depth knowledge of risk management and mitigation strategies in software development.
5. Proficiency in designing complex cloud-native solutions with in-depth knowledge of public cloud offerings, communication patterns (API, Event-driven), and secure and extensible architectures.
6. Clear understanding of compliance security and applying a security-driven mindset to all development.
Language Skills
Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of the German language is a plus.

5. Prior experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, DevOps specialists, and quality assurance teams.
