* Using software like Revit, Tekla, or AutoCAD, create detailed 3D structural models for buildings and other infrastructure projects. This includes components like beams, columns, slabs, foundations, and reinforcements.
* Produce 2D drawings from the 3D models, such as plans, sections, elevations, and details for construction purposes. Ensure the drawings adhere to the project’s standards and specifications.
* Collaborate with other teams (architects, MEP engineers) to ensure that the structural models integrate seamlessly into the overall project model.
* Prepare and update construction drawings for structural elements like foundations, framing systems, and retaining walls. These may include details for rebar placement, load-bearing walls, and material specifications.
* Ensure that the structural designs are correctly represented in the models and drawings, with a focus on accuracy and constructability.
* Track revisions and maintain an updated set of drawings and models throughout the project lifecycle.
* Use BIM tools (e.g., Navisworks) to detect clashes or conflicts between the structural model and other disciplines (architectural, MEP). Work with the project team to resolve any issues before construction begins.
