We are seeking a proactive and experienced Project Developer to lead land scouting and origination efforts across Spain. With a minimum of 3 years of experience, the ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential land opportunities, navigating environmental and urbanistic constraints, and negotiating land agreements with landowners and local authorities. The role requires close collaboration with the legal team to finalize agreements and ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct on-site land scouting across various regions of Spain to identify suitable locations for BESS projects.
* Use tools such as QGIS, Google Earth, and urbanistic constraints programs at the municipal and community levels to evaluate land viability.
* Assess environmental and urbanistic constraints according to Spanish law, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
* Lead negotiations for BESS plant land agreements, including leases, purchases, surface rights, among others, and evacuation easements.
* Collaborate closely with the legal department to finalize land agreements and close negotiations.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with local city councils and municipal stakeholders, ensuring smooth approval processes for land acquisitions.
* Engage with local communities and stakeholders to facilitate approval and align land agreements with project objectives.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in land scouting, or a related field within the renewable energy or real estate sectors.
* Strong understanding of environmental and urbanistic constraints under Spanish law.
* Proficiency in GIS tools (QGIS, Google Earth) and urbanistic constraints programs at the municipal and community levels.
* Proven experience in negotiating land agreements, including leases, purchases, surface rights and easements.
* Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with city councils, landowners, and other stakeholders.
* Extensive key contacts database across Spain, including external support in terms of lands.
* Willingness to travel regularly for on-site land assessments across Spain.
