This role will be responsible for GTILs ESG vision, policy, strategy, and performance and maintain the roadmap for internal usage and for external purposes. This role will work closely with functional Directors, various stakeholder teams and global leadership to ensure objectives are met. You will be responsible for delivering GTILs ESG reports in a rapidly evolving global regulatory environment. This will involve establishing external reporting processes, collecting key metrics from partner teams, drafting disclosures, and presenting the results to senior leadership on legal, accounting and finance teams.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop Grant Thornton’s network ESG vision, policy and strategy
* Work with sustainability subject matter experts to understand our calculation methodology
* Identify and implement an appropriate reporting platform for network GHG emissions
* Develop and implement annual network ESG reporting and assessments, with a particular focus on GFANZ reporting requirements and in alignment with Grant Thornton’s network strategy
* Manage, oversee and complete Grant Thornton’s network ESG Report
* Support Finance with GTIL ESG disclosures
* Respond to key ESG surveys, inquiries and ratings agencies on network results and perform ongoing due diligence and regular monitoring of network ESG scores.
* Support all board reporting of ESG including materials, reports, and presentations.
* Lead on future materiality assessments
* Build relationships across functions and business units to enable opportunities for improvement ESG communications expert
* Play a leadership role in partnering with Marketing and Communications to develop communication strategies for internal and external stakeholders.
* Drive and support strategy to address how we manage GTIL’s carbon footprint
* Support the GTIL Procurement team to assess the ESG performance of our vendors, particularly high spend and/or those in high-risk industries
* Develop and manage training for GTIL employees on our internal ESG activities and their contributions / responsibilities (with support from L&D and other stakeholders as needed)
* Develop and manage training for key member firm stakeholders to bring awareness of the network ESG report and their contributions / responsibilities (with support from L&D and other stakeholders as needed)
* Support other GTIL and/or network ESG processes and projects as necessary and capacity allows
* Assist in various ongoing and ad hoc team projects as needed

Person Specification
* Significant experience in sustainability/ESG in house or consulting experience, environmental consulting, GHG-accounting, sustainability supplier management
* Fluency in languages other than English beneficial (Spanish and French preferred)
Experience - essential
* Proven track record as an analyst or in roles involving data analysis.
* Expertise in the nuances of specific sustainability-related datasets
* Deep understanding of the emerging ESG regulatory environment
* Deep understanding of ESG reporting criteria and also the underlying assumptions that support common ESG targets such as net zero
* Experience with external reporting solutions
* Ability to interpret, clean and manipulate data
* Proven experience and demonstrated interest in sustainability in general
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), problem-solving abilities, and strength in understanding and analyzing requirements to deliver results
* Proven track record in very strong project management/organisational skills and track-record in meeting deadlines for multi-stakeholder projects
* Strong relationship skills and cultural awareness, the ability to work well with people from different disciplines and cultures.
* Ability to be agile, respond positively to change and contribute with an innovative and global mindset.
