Managing Partner – Financial Services Consulting
About the Role
A leading global Financial Services consultancy seeks an entrepreneurial Managing Partner to lead and grow their Financial Services Consulting business in Spain and Portugal.
Based in Madrid, this role offers the opportunity to own the business and drive strategic growth, deliver high-value consulting engagements, and establish the firm as the go-to partner for financial institutions navigating digital transformation, regulatory challenges, and innovation in a rapidly changing market.
Candidates with Big4 (or similar) experience and deep experience within Financial Services are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
* Business Leadership and Strategy
o Build a team and develop and execute the strategic vision for the Financial Services Consulting business in Spain and Portugal, aligning with global objectives.
o Drive revenue growth by expanding market share, diversifying offerings, and delivering innovative solutions tailored to the Spanish and Portuguese market.
o Oversee the financial performance of the practice, including P&L responsibility, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Client Engagement and Delivery
o Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives across banking, insurance, and capital markets.
o Lead key client engagements, ensuring delivery excellence and the achievement of measurable outcomes.
o Act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through complex transformations, including digitalization, risk management, and operational efficiency.
* Team Development and Leadership
o Attract, develop, and retain top talent to build a high-performing consulting team.
o Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the practice.
o Mentor and coach senior consultants and managers to develop future leaders.
* Market Positioning and Growth
o Represent the firm as a thought leader at industry events, conferences, and media platforms.
o Drive business development efforts, including identifying opportunities, responding to RFPs, and negotiating contracts.
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulators, industry associations, and ecosystem partners to enhance market presence.
Key Qualifications
* Proven track record of leadership in a consulting or professional services environment, with a focus on financial services.
* Extensive experience working with Spanish financial institutions, including banks, insurers, and investment firms.
* Strong business acumen with P&L management and a demonstrated ability to grow a business or practice.
* Deep expertise in financial services trends, such as digital transformation, sustainability, risk and compliance, and emerging technologies.
* Exceptional client management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage at the executive level.
* Inspirational leadership style with a focus on team development and collaboration.
* Fluency in Spanish and English is required; additional languages are a plus.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
