Job Summary
A Senior Scientist position is offered for supporting active projects at a client site located at Tres Cantos, Madrid, Spain. Within this role, the candidate will work in collaboration with the Open Lab (OL) Team, OL Fellows, project leaders, and other external partners to ensure procedures are followed with the aim to meet project deadlines with the quality standard required. Therefore, excellent communication and team-working skills, flexibility, high motivation, and proactivity to contribute to OL projects are essential. In vitro laboratory experience with pathogenic microorganisms would be desirable.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Support in developing analytical methods.
* Analyze data using different databases and applications, and present results to the project team.
* Arrange electronic notebook training, requests of accounts/ID, and provide application support to OL fellows.
* Fill out electronic notebooks following the local guidelines.
* Register biological material used in Open Lab (OL) experiments.
* Review and archive protocol assays in the internal platform.
* Arrange compound and plate requests using the corresponding platforms.
* Request approval for sharing the structures with third parties.
* Create Team Sites for sharing documents with third parties.
* Possibility to provide laboratory support to OL projects.
* Request compound assays in the corresponding platform.
* Retrieve compound data for OL fellows from different applications.
Job Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* BSc in Biology (Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Parasitology).
* Drug Discovery experience in High-throughput screening (HTS).
* Medium/high written and spoken English is needed.
* Experience in data analysis tools for HTS assays.
* Knowledgeable of compound request applications.
Preferred Qualifications
* Working experience with pathogenic biosafety level 3 microorganisms such as M. tuberculosis and/or Plasmodium falciparum.
* Working experience with cell cultures.
