ROLE SUMMARY:
The Nanos/Megas Group Head is responsible for all things on the “activity side”, as well as the discipline and welfare side (for campers and staff). This is a mid-management position and is the principal manager for the operation and delivery of the Nanos and Mega Camp. This includes the adaptation of the programme for the needs of the campers and developing the multiactivity programme, ensuring it is fun, safe and meets our quality standards.
They are also responsible for ensuring that the activities are not only fun but informative in a safe positive environment. Our students are mixed nationalities, with various levels of English or Spanish. The students tend to be locals from the area, or siblings of the older students in the main camp, or simply a travelling family on holiday making use of our fantastic and premium camp.
Heads are expected to be generally the heart and soul of their age group, bringing energy to camp. They need to be young, or young at heart, individuals who are full of energy in order to meet the extraordinary demands of camp work, while also having a mature and responsible outlook to be able to take on the responsibility for this mid-management position.
Hours of work:
Nanos/Megas Heads will work from Monday to Friday, from 9-17 h, which means they will be on a 40 hour contract. However, some flexibility will be required in certain circumstances that could take place during camp.
Contract:
* Period: from Thursday 26th June to Saturday 2nd August 2025.
* Working week: 5 days out of 7, 40h/week
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Developing and supervising activities: Make sure the programme is being fulfilled and developed by monitors with the safety, quality and attitude it should be for a premium camp. One of the key parts of Nanos/Megas camp is this programme.
* Create a Positive Environment: Foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere where campers feel encouraged to participate in the activities, and exercise respectful behaviour at all times.
* Promote Camp Spirit and Teamwork: Encourage cooperation, teamwork, and cultural exchange among campers, integrating camp activities and social experiences.
* Ensure the effective supervision and safety of the campers at all times.
* Assess and Track Campers' Progress and welfare: Monitor each camper's development and provide and get feedback to ensure steady progress. Report progress to camp directors as necessary, as well as any welfare issues that might come up.
* Develop and implement a comprehensive program for young children that includes a range of age-appropriate activities, such as arts and crafts, music and movement, storytelling, games, and nature exploration.
* Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of counselors/monitors to ensure that all campers receive high-quality care, instruction, and guidance.
* Plan and lead Nano/Mega Camp activities, including daily routines, special events, and field trips. Once more, this is a fun oriented camp, and so the activities should be, always keeping high standards and safety.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
* Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
* Minimum of three years of experience in working with young children in a camp, school, or daycare setting.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and campers.
* Ability to plan and lead a variety of age-appropriate activities and programs, and to adapt to the changing needs and interests of young children.
* Strong knowledge of child development best practices, safety procedures, and age-appropriate curriculum.
* Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing circumstances as needed.
* Any first aid qualifications will be looked upon favourably.
