Job Title: Plant Controller
The Plant Controller plays a key role in the plant leadership team, contributing to all areas of plant management and providing strong financial leadership for business decisions. The incumbent will provide financial direction to the plant management team and offer recommendations to improve site performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all general accounting activities related to the plant, setting up accounting processes for the newly acquired plant around Madrid in line with LifeStyles policies and best practices of other LifeStyles plants.
* Oversee manufacturing and R&D accounting, financial reporting, and analysis, ensuring results accurately reflect plant performance.
* Drive integration of the newly acquired plant in Spain into the LifeStyles group.
* Implement the ERP (MS Dynamics 365) and manage data transfer from the current ERP (SAP) during the transition period.
* Support the year-end external audit and internal audit process.
* Develop and manage the annual budget and quarterly forecast in coordination with plant management and corporate finance.
* Calculate standard cost per item during the budget cycle and for new products during the year.
* Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
* Conduct regular inventory analysis and support efforts to reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
* Prepare business cases for capital expenditure.
* Act as a business partner to the Plant's General Manager and the Plant Management in identifying efficiency improvement initiatives, cost reduction opportunities, risk analysis, interpretation of financial results, and KPIs.
* Proactively work with regional management to reduce working capital by focusing on reducing inventory levels, bad stock provision, excess, and obsolete items.
* Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local statutory requirements, and US GAAP.
* Deliver timely and accurate month-end reports for regional and corporate reporting.
* Reconcile various general ledger accounts and ensure all balances are identifiable and cleared on a timely basis.
* Suggest and implement Lean ideas in financial and plant management processes.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's/Master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
* 7+ years' experience in a similar role.
* Fluent in English & Spanish, Italian is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as a team member.
* Experience with ERP systems and Business Intelligence tools. MS Dynamics 365 is a plus.
* Good planning and organizational skills.
* Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines for month close, forecasting, and budgeting cycles.
* Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from the business.
