The Head of Quality Manufacturing role:
The Head of Quality Manufacturing will manage all aspects of quality assurance and food safety in our Hero Spain manufacturing site. This role demands expertise in food safety regulations, quality systems, and the unique challenges of baby food production. The candidate must have strong leadership skills to guide the team, ensuring top standards of safety and quality. Collaboration with the Quality Excellence team, southern cluster's Country quality team, Production, Engineering, Operational Excellence, Procurement, and R&D is essential.
Your Main Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality assurance and food safety professionals, including Laboratory Managers, Food Safety & Regulatory staff, and quality managers. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Ensure adherence of manufacturing site to the QM processes as described for selected software solutions such as; QMS, PLM and SAP4HANA. Oversee the execution of quality control processes, including raw material inspection, in-process controls, and final product testing. Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and other relevant food safety standards. Ensure the documentation and maintenance of the local Quality Management Systems including internal and external Audit Management. Lead periodic Management Reviews about the Quality and Food Safety performance and trends (KPI's), challenges, emerging risks, and opportunities.
Food Safety: Develop and implement food safety programs, including HACCP plans, allergen control, and sanitation procedures. Conduct regular food safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Manage food safety incidents and coordinate corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure compliance with standard requirements in relation to product standards e.G., organic, halal, kosher, etc.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local, national, and international food safety regulations and standards. Ensure all products meet regulatory requirements and company standards. Drive effective and efficient manufacturing compliance for our multicountry portfolio. Liaise with regulatory authorities and certification bodies as needed. Maintain relationships with industry associations, customer working groups, and other relevant internal and external bodies and food regulatory authorities.
Continuous Improvement: Analyze quality performance data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement. Lead initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve manufacturing processes. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to drive operational excellence. Develop and maintain the QMS software in line with the group standard.
