Position Overview
The Senior Underwriter collaborates with Account Management and Business Development teams to build and maintain broker relationships, aiming to turn trust into trading partnerships. The role focuses on securing profitable renewals and generating new business aligned with our strategy and risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review complex or specialized cases, clearly articulating propositions internally and externally to deliver timely underwriting decisions, securing profitable business within authority and risk appetite.
2. Contribute to segment and local business development plans, identifying opportunities for new business with Account Managers.
3. Manage and develop a portfolio to maximize profitable revenue from new and renewal business, including reviewing existing accounts and following up on new cases.
4. Utilize all relevant information sources to meet broker and client needs, building long-term relationships to generate and close new, up-selling, and cross-selling opportunities.
5. Negotiate and deliver underwriting decisions following established processes and regulatory requirements.
6. Collaborate with Account Managers and others to resolve broker and client complaints promptly, maintaining relationship quality and continuity.
