The Data Center Global Services team is looking for exceptional individuals to join our Implementation, Controls organization as Controls Engineer for Construction (BMS/EPMS), responsible for the building automation systems within Amazon data centers. Role Responsibilities and Requirements:
1. Understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, industrial HVAC.
2. Ability to ascertain customer needs to help develop project scope and specifications.
3. Ability to manage scope of work relative to the site specifics and customer needs.
4. Ability to manage project engineering to determine the scope of work relative to the design intent of the customer needs.
5. Ability to read and interpret specifications and implementing those specifications as they apply to the work environment.
6. Development of control panel BOM's.
7. Development of ISA data sheets for temperature, level, flow, and pressure transmitters along with ISA data sheets for control valves, positioners, analytical, and various other types of instrumentation.
8. Development of drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, including the general arrangement, internal layout, schematics, and interconnection and wire diagrams.
9. Development of logic diagrams in the International Automation format for complex logic devices such as Programmable Logical Controller and Distributed Control System.
10. Preparation of cable routing plans and schedules.
11. Performing inspections, testing, and commissioning of the facility systems.
12. Work individually and as part of a team to develop new products, support existing products, test and evaluate equipment.
13. Provide technical assistance as needed to internal customers.
14. Coordinate project work internally within the department and externally with other departments to ensure on-time completion of projects within budget.
Key job responsibilities:
Controls Engineer (CE) deploys, maintains BMS (Building Management System) & EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring System) in AWS leased/colocation data centers. CE coordinates with AWS DCEO (Data Center Engineering Operations) teams to implement new builds, upgrades, etc., and ensures high availability and high resiliency of these control systems.
A day in the life:
Controls Engineer's day may begin with deployment efforts including on-site site management works, directing Controls vendors for installation/commissioning works and is responsible for quality and on-time delivery of the tasks/project. While managing service works, CE will coordinate with Operations teams for permits and engages Vendor or performs services confirming to the task lists.

Central EU Controls team deploys control solutions across clusters in ZAZ, CDG, MxP, and ZRH. Team members collaborate on EMEA region-wide initiatives and travel to other clusters for support and training needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or other related engineering degrees.
2. Three (3) years in BMS or EPMS Controls related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Demonstrated success in leading and managing teams, preferably in a Controls, Mechanical, or electrical construction environment.
2. Experience as a Controls Engineering Specialist - Minimum 3 years of field service experience preferably with the following products: Siemens: Apogee / Honeywell: Building Controls/Trend Schneider Electric: PowerLogic/Struxureware Power User Level Windows Skill Set, or Project management.
3. Must be able to operate with little to no supervision.
4. Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
