About the Job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Siemens Energy, a leading company in the energy sector. As a Process Engineer for Hydrogen Projects, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative solutions for electrolyser plants.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop process engineering plans for electrolyser plants throughout the project lifecycle.
* Lead the engineering team and manage tasks during bid preparation.
* Review customer specifications and provide comments during the bidding phase.
* Identify project-specific deviations from reference plants and decide on strategies with the bid manager.
* Collaborate with vendors for technical clarification and release RFQs (purchasing specifications) for system and components.
* Drive process and design improvements focusing on efficiency enhancement and cost reduction measures.
* Develop test instructions and use test rigs for design verification, as well as maintain process design tools.
* Ensure quality of engineering deliverables by identifying technical gaps and requesting support from other experts when needed.
* Provide technical expertise to the project execution team during review of project-specific process engineering design and documentation.
* Collaborate with other engineering fields, purchasing department, and R&D organization, as well as manage internal and external engineering partners.
Your Background
* A master's degree in process engineering or a related field.
* Intensive working experience in engineering or other technical functions, with the ability to deal with interface requirements.
* In-depth knowledge of electrolysis technology and design.
* Familiarity with codes and standards, including DIN, ASME, API, ANSI, NEMA, NPFA, etc.
* Expertise in operational concepts, I&C systems, and DCS specifications.
* Commissioning experience and basic knowledge in fact-finding, test definition, troubleshooting, and plant performance evaluation.
* Competencies in engineering tools such as COMOS, and a deep understanding of P&IDs methodology, valve and heat exchanger design, gas analysis, and water chemistry.
* Good decision-making skills and independent working capability.
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, including effective communication.
* Fluent knowledge of English, with German being a plus, and willingness to travel.
* A great passion for the area of energy transition and decarbonization.
* Flexibility and agility in an environment characterized by personal responsibility and initiative.
