Job Objective:
* Be the representative of Health, Safety and Environment, both locally and internationally in the company and with the competent authorities.
* Comply with all regulations applicable to the company in time and quality.
* Comply with the company's standards.
* To be up to date with the latest regulations applicable to the company.
* Define and maintain an EHS management system to control all possible variations in processes and products.
* Develop a safety and environmental culture that seeks the commitment of each employee.
* Establish continuous improvement to minimize exposure, risk and possibility of accidents or incidents.
* Increase the sense of ownership and technical knowledge of the related areas.
* Define a training plan for the people who depend on it as well as indirect people in safety, health and environmental issues.
* Have a clear and orderly documentation system. Responsible for ensuring that documentation is available on time.
* Define a system maintained over time for managing changes and/or risk works and ensure its compliance.
* Lead projects with CAPEX that do not require a technical aspect not specific to the department.
* Responsible for the correct SDS documentation.
Essential Functions:
* Maintain a safety, health and environmental management system.
* Define the EHS improvement plan.
* Incident and accident investigation and establishment of corrective/preventive measures.
* Multi-departmental involvement.
* Identify and evaluate potential hazards minimizing risks and establishing corrective/preventive measures.
* EHS cost and deviation control.
* Communication to the plant manager in case of deviations (economic, safety, environmental, legal).
* Evaluate risky jobs or non-standard or exceptional situations.
* Present alternatives in safety or environmental measures in collaboration with other departments.
* Design the EHS training plan for all staff.
* Maintain the MOC program and collaborate with the Supportive process safety department (HAZOPs).
* Identify applicable legislation in terms of EHS and plan its implementation.
* Implementation and maintenance of company policy and standards. Coordination in those applicable to other departments.
* Participation in relevant internal, corporate and external meetings.
* Reporting information to relevant EHS authorities.
* Maintenance of ISO 14.001 system.
* Responsible for communicating all preventive information to the various internal and external stakeholders.
* Define and maintain the emergency prevention systems (Seveso).
* Perform plant visits, observations, supervision at safety level and attend the different plant meetings.
* Work in collaboration with the European EHS leader to ensure that the management system is in line with company standards.
* Implement a safety, health and environmental culture in the plant according to company standards.
* Provide technical support and input to capital projects on environmental, health and safety issues.
Knowledge, Education, Skills & Qualifications:
* Respectful, approachable and visible. Willing to question the status quo.
* Engineer, chemist or similar.
* Master in occupational risk prevention (all specialties).
* Technical knowledge is a plus.
* High command of computer tools: Excel, SAP, Outlook.
* High level of spoken or written English.
* Experience in the chemical sector.
