This is a fixed-term opportunity for 18 months.
Why We Need This Role
The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team supports and facilitates the development of a robust ESG strategy, ensuring that our sustainability activities go beyond just compliance. We aim to deliver an industry-leading ESG programme and raise awareness among all Colt employees, customers, and partners.
This role will support the business in delivering the ESG strategy and vision, particularly concerning environmental sustainability, circularity, sustainable procurement activity, and sustainability governance for product development.
What You Will Do
1. Lead and further develop ESG workstreams to drive forward the organisational strategy regarding sustainable product development, circularity, conflict minerals, and supply chain decarbonisation.
2. Align with Product, Commercial, Operations, Procurement, and other internal teams to strengthen ESG understanding and embed Sustainability-by-Design.
3. Stay abreast of industry changes and best practices, conducting research on sustainable product design, circular economy, and sustainable supply chains.
4. Partner with relevant external bodies to strengthen our approach and share best practices (i.e., UNGC, TechUK, Consultants).
5. Work with business leads, carbon accounting lead, and external consultants to develop metrics and dashboards that provide meaningful insights for all levels and functions.
6. Assist in the development of policies, processes, guidelines, and schedules aimed at promoting ethical business practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
7. Link with the ESG Executive and the Commercial team to define and drive internal and external ESG communications requirements.
8. Communicate with internal colleagues on alignment with sustainability standards as well as CSRD and EU taxonomy requirements.
9. Provide advice and support to colleagues on sustainability matters, particularly product, circularity, and procurement-related.
10. Work alongside procurement colleagues to support supplier sustainability engagement ensuring alignment with ESG strategy and goals.
11. Act as the link between the ESG team and Sales colleagues to drive the ESG value proposition for customers.
What We're Looking For
Skills & Experience :
1. Prior working experience and leadership in Sustainability with emphasis on environmental sustainability, circularity, and sustainable product design.
2. Excellent communication skills and business-level English.
3. Collaborative approach to complex sustainability solutions.
4. Strong understanding of the sustainability landscape.
5. Prior experience researching and writing reports accessible to a wide audience.
6. Leadership of workstreams across a global organisation.
7. Excellent organisational skills.
8. Sustainability qualification is desirable; experience is key.
9. Understanding of EU Taxonomy and CSRD requirements is a plus.
10. Previous experience in a global function and business would be advantageous.
Education
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field.
