About CUBRO
CUBRO is not just a furniture brand; we're a digital-native company revolutionising how consumers purchase integrated furniture. Our mission is to democratise high-quality, fully customised furniture—what we call Affordable Design—leveraging IKEA’s METOD and PAX systems to simplify design, manufacturing, and logistics. We’re transforming a traditional, offline sales model into a digitised, awe-inspiring consumer experience. Our team's passion for excellent functional design is at the heart of everything we do.
In four short years, we've designed, manufactured, and delivered over 3500 projects across Spain, France, Germany, and other European countries, averaging over 100 projects monthly.
The opportunity
We're on a trajectory to 10X our project delivery, powered by technology. This is where you come in. As our Head of Software Development, you're not just filling a role – you're embarking on a journey with the ability to become our future CTO. Your mission? To forge an exceptional internal product and technology team, starting with you.
You will own CUBRO’s current technology stack (including Hubspot, WordPress, WooCommerce, Rhino + Grasshopper, and no-code tools). You will assume and insource all that knowledge and lead the company into the following technology stages, being able to crystallise the management team’s vision into digital products focused on improving the experience of how consumers discover and purchase our products, as well as how they design their integrated furniture systems. Additionally, you will also focus on all internal tooling to streamline operations.
You will love working with us if
1. You are fearless of tough, product-wise and technical challenges and like to contribute to resolving these.
2. You seek to build and lead a team of talented people while continuing to be a hands-on builder.
3. You have an entrepreneurial mindset and prefer working in a fast-paced start-up over a hierarchical corporation.
4. You are excited about being close to the business, designing solutions and changing the multi-billion euros integrated furniture category.
The top 3 things we are looking for in a candidate
1. Strong development skills to build a good foundation in our products.
2. Autonomy in the complete product development process (ideation - definition - build - measure - learn).
3. Proactive and eager to work in an eCommerce that requires constant iterations to improve user experience and conversion.
Our offer
1. Equity compensation plan.
2. A high-growth environment with a culture of trust and autonomy.
3. An office in central Madrid (Tetuán), accessible by public transport and bike stations.
Skillset requirements
1. 5+ years in software development or technical leadership. A degree in computer science or information systems is preferred.
2. Proficiency in no-code/low-code and data integration tools.
3. Experience deploying and operating software on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
4. Agile and lean development experience.
5. Good prioritisation, organisation, and communication skills to lead and execute product and technology roadmaps.
6. Skilled in metric analysis and improving conversions.
7. Fluency in Spanish and English; French is a plus.
Nice-to-haves
1. Leadership experience in software development teams.
2. Experience managing third-party development agencies.
3. Familiarity with 3D modelling tools.
Next steps
We will review all applications, and if you are a good fit, we will contact you for an initial half-hour chat to get to know each other better. CUBRO has ambitious plans; if you do, too, we invite you to apply now!
