Job Description
* Identify and develop new business opportunities by researching and analyzing potential clients in the packaging industry.
* Establish contact with potential customers through cold calling, networking, and attending industry events and trade shows.
* Present and demonstrate packaging solutions to prospective clients based on their specific requirements.
* Manage and grow relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
* Understand client needs and provide solutions that meet their packaging requirements.
* Regularly visit clients to review product performance and explore new opportunities for additional sales.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all client queries and concerns.
* Achieve or exceed sales targets for assigned accounts or territory.
* Develop and implement sales plans, including product pricing, to meet or exceed market share and profitability goals.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
* Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's packaging products and services, including technical specifications, materials, and applications.
* Offer consultative sales solutions by aligning product features with customer needs.
* Prepare customized proposals, quotations, and product presentations for prospective clients.
* Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients, ensuring profitability while maintaining competitive positioning.
* Close sales deals and ensure accurate, timely delivery of products to clients.
* Follow up on all sales opportunities and ensure proper documentation of orders and client communications.
* Prepare regular sales reports, including sales forecasts, client feedback, and market intelligence, for review with management.
* Track sales performance against targets and provide insights into potential improvements.
* Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions using CRM tools.
* Work closely with the marketing, product development, and logistics teams to ensure product alignment with client needs.
* Coordinate with production and supply chain teams to manage orders and ensure timely delivery.
* Provide feedback to internal teams regarding client preferences, product demand, and market trends.
The Successful Applicant
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
* Proven experience (2+ years) in sales, ideally within the packaging or manufacturing industry.
* Strong knowledge of packaging products and materials such as cardboard, plastic, flexible packaging, and eco-friendly alternatives.
* Experience in managing a sales pipeline and closing deals in a competitive market.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
* Sales Acumen: Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets through effective negotiation, relationship-building, and solution selling.
* Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of packaging materials, products, and industry trends.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex products in an easy-to-understand manner.
* Negotiation & Persuasion: Skilled in negotiating terms and closing deals while maintaining strong customer relationships.
* Client-focused: Ability to understand client needs and provide customized packaging solutions that add value.
* Problem-solving: Adept at resolving customer issues and overcoming obstacles in the sales process.
* Self-motivated: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
* Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software, sales reporting tools, and other business management platforms.
