GE Healthcare HR Operations & Payroll Specialist (Spain and Portugal) - Fixed Term Contract, Maternity Replacement in Madrid, Spain
Job Description Summary
In this role, you will execute the Iberia HR Ops & Payroll processes with a strong understanding of legislative rules. Emphasis is placed on data integrity and analysis to support key HR decisions. You will identify and resolve operational issues, support process improvement, and promote “Best in Class” service while developing effective relationships and working cross-functionally with internal teams and suppliers.
You will partner with benefit and payroll suppliers, HR, and colleagues to assist with HR Operations matters for Iberia, such as onboarding, leave of absence, terminations, life-cycle events, benefit enrollment and maintenance, and payroll. You will ensure correct payroll inputs and adherence to relevant laws, regulations, internal policies, and processes.
Knowledge of HCM systems, including Workday, the in-house payroll input system, and various 3rd party data feeds and platforms used for HR Ops and payroll data collection, Time & Attendance, and Benefits management is required.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Respond to and manage HR & Payroll queries via ticketing system coming from GE HealthCare colleagues, managers and HRM's in a timely and professional manner.
2. Correctly administer all HR Operations and Payroll processes under scope of responsibility.
3. Maintain quality of work based on service delivery metrics.
4. HR Operations: maintaining and updating employee records. Overlooking HR transactions, such as onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and employees’ life-events.
5. Maintain regular HRIS input by collecting relevant candidate and employee lifecycle information, such as personal data, contract terms, and benefits and compensation details.
6. You will have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework and you will consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined policy/parameters.
7. Resolve issues in situations that require good knowledge and judgment within established procedures (HR Ops & Payroll).
8. HR portal content: maintain and ensure portal remains relevant with the right level of information to support our colleagues in a self-service model. Update portal with new or adjusted policies, propose new content and work with People Operations and HR colleagues to define strategy for the local portal.
9. Partner with payroll suppliers and assist with various payroll matters, ensuring accurate payroll inputs and checking payroll outputs.
10. Collaborate with HR and Business teams to gather relevant input data, perform analyses, and reconcile payroll to ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly payments and annual returns including correct employment tax application.
11. Lead the collection of required compensation data for annual personal income tax return season for expats and other employees authorized for company-funded tax support.
12. Ensure payroll compliance by accurately administering payroll processes and maintaining quality based on service delivery metrics.
13. Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to the implementation of best practices across the People Operations organization.
Required Qualifications
1. Minimum 2 years’ experience in Human Resources and Payroll Service Delivery.
2. Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
3. Good understanding of payroll management, employment law, employment tax regulations, and benefit management.

4. Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy in documentation creation and payroll review.
5. Adaptability: Willingness to embrace challenges and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
6. Software Proficiency: Microsoft Excel required, and Workday proficiency is a plus.
