What's the challenge?
As a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Processing Analyst, you will lead and contribute to the development of cutting-edge algorithms for processing SAR data. Your role will leverage both traditional signal processing techniques and advanced machine learning approaches to enable on-board and on-ground processing of SAR data. This position requires a deep understanding of SAR systems, image formation, and advanced data processing methods.
Your contributions will include:
* Designing, developing, and enhancing high-quality SAR processing models using traditional processing techniques.
* Collaborating with machine learning engineers, data scientists, and domain experts to integrate machine learning solutions with traditional SAR techniques for improved performance.
* Coordinating dataset generation and validation to ensure data and labels are physically consistent with the underlying SAR problem and compatible with machine learning tasks.
* Evaluating the quality of the processing pipeline for SAR image formation, data compression, feature extraction, and classification based on current state-of-the-art techniques.
* Presenting and documenting results, progress, and findings for technical reviews, external stakeholders, and conferences.
What we're looking for:
Technical skills:
* Experience in radar data processing, including image formation, pre- and post-processing techniques.
* Strong understanding of signal processing, Fourier analysis, and SAR-specific image formation algorithms.
* Experience with data augmentation, feature extraction, and model evaluation techniques specific to radar data.
Additional valued skills:
* Understanding of Machine Learning and Computer Vision techniques.
* Experience working on aerospace-related projects.
* Experience with Linux systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.).
* Experience developing embedded ML applications (C++, CUDA, TensorRT).
Educational background:
* Bachelor’s, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, GIS, Machine Learning, Data Science, Physics, or related fields.
Professional experience:
* The position will be tailored to the level of experience.
Language skills:
* Good level of English, spoken and written.
* Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, or Romanian will be considered an asset.
* Ability to speak any other language will also be considered a positive.
Personal attributes:
* Capability to integrate into and work within a trans-European team.
* Solid organizational, analytical, and reporting skills.
* Autonomy and willingness to take initiative.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Energetic, positive team player mentality.
