We're seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in both AWS cloud services and on-premises environments. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to meet the diverse data requirements of our organization and customers.
Responsibilities:
1. Database Management: Oversee Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their smooth operation through tasks such as installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
2. Solution Design: Craft and deploy database solutions tailored for AWS cloud (RDS, EC2, S3) and on-premises setups, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability.
3. Performance Monitoring: Keep a vigilant eye on database health, proactively addressing issues and fine-tuning performance to align with business needs.
4. Security Implementation: Establish robust database security protocols, including access controls and encryption, to comply with customer and regulatory standards.
5. Collaboration: Work alongside various teams to facilitate data migration, replication, and integration across different database platforms.
6. Client Support: Offer expert technical support and resolve database-related issues for clients across multiple time zones.
7. Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest in technology, best practices, and trends.
Requirements:
1. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology and 3-5 years of experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
2. Demonstrated expertise as a DBA with Oracle RAC (version 19c and above).
3. Experience patching and updating Oracle server environments.
4. Experience with PostgreSQL (version 9 and above).
5. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including RDS, EC2, S3.
6. Knowledge of on-premises database setups, including server hardware, storage, and networking.
7. A solid understanding of database principles, architecture, and administration, with a focus on backup and recovery, performance tuning, and security.
8. Experience in database migration, replication, and integration, including between Oracle and PostgreSQL systems.
9. Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for database automation and management tasks.
10. Familiarity with Linux and the interplay between operating systems and databases.
