Software Engineer (Digital Training Tools)
About the position
What we do:
The Digital Training Tools group in Westinghouse develops and maintains digital tools for creation and delivery of specialized safety-critical training material.
We want to add a new member to our team to help us improve the products we develop and how we deliver them. We are looking for someone with some experience, a taste for good software development practices, and looking for a stable team with long-term projection.
Role:
The mission of this role is to contribute to the development of our Digital training Tools. We aim at helping Westinghouse provide the best possible digital training experience to our customers (major industrial companies at global level).
Depending on your experience and profile, you will be able to help in different projects and activities. We cover the full cycle from UX/UI tasks to front-end and backend development, databases, infrastructure, operations or even user support.
Our technology stack is this:
Front: Vue.js / Typescript
Databases: MySQL, MongoDB, Redis
You don’t need to know them all, but you should at least know some of them. And be willing to learn about all the rest!

You will be working with colleagues and users globally, especially in the US and Europe. Our current team is currently made of 12 people, all of them in Spain. We look at long-term product development and foster an environment where good practices (e.g. clean architecture, test-driven development) are shared and valued.
Our team offices are in Madrid (San Sebastián de los Reyes) and Tarragona (L'Hospitalet de l'Infant). We work in a mixture of 50% home and 50% office.

Mindset: You feel comfortable with agile values and principles. You are a team player, and look for continuous improvement, both at a personal and a team level.
Experience: You have spent at least 1 year in similar positions working with production software and several items of our technology stack.
Engineering: You are interested about software engineering best practices. You want to share what you know and are willing to learn from others.
English: You can follow a conversation in English with native speakers.
Formal training: You have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
