King's College, world-renowned for academic excellence, is seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspiring and ambitious professional to the position of Summer Camp Residential Monitor/Lifeguard.
Dates: July 1st – July 31st (Monday to Friday)
Key responsibilities and Accountabilities:
General duties
•Staff must respect the guidelines set down by King's College
S.L. (Staff Handbook).
•Staff is required to attend the Training Day/planning sessions
before the start of the Course.
•Staff is responsible for ensuring that they maintain good
standards of personal hygiene and appearance at all times.
•The uniform provided by King's College S.L. should be worn at
all times as well as suitable footwear.
•All staff should arrive on the agreed starting date (to be
confirmed).
•Staff should follow the Residential course timetable and be
punctual at all times.
•Be willing to work a flexible timetable.
•Be responsible, professional and flexible in all your duties.
•Ensure that children are given adequate care at all time and
specially when feeling unwell or injured.
•Maintain an awareness and observation of fire, health and
safety regulations (Staff Handbook).
•Unpacking and packing with the Course Director of course
material (start and end of Summer Course).
•Unpacking and packing of pool material should take place the
day before the course starts.
•Work as part of the team.
•Be available whenever you are needed.
•Do transfers to/from the airport.
Monitoring Duties
•Be prepared to take on a "24 hour a day" duty role.
•Ensure that children are not left unattended during the pool
period.
•Be responsible for the well-being of the children in the
Residential Course.
•Supervise and manage children between the ages of eight to
sixteen years in the pool.
•Administer first aid to children when necessary.
•Inform the Coordinator or Director of any child who incurs an
injury, accident and who feels unwell dur- ing the pool period.
•Maintain vigilance over members of staff in the Summer School
when on duty at the swimming pool.
•Attend all staff meetings.
•Be prepared to do a rotation of the following duties between all
members of staff: break times, mealtimes.
•Be responsible for the well-being of the children in the course
and make sure they are never left unattended within the camp
and during offsite excursions.
•Use English at all times with the children in the course.
•Prepare and lead sports/activities for groups of 10 - 15 students
between the ages of six to seventeen years as well as night
activities.
•Be responsible for a dormitory of children, run a daily dorm
session/reunion with your group, and if necessary, make time
outside the dorm time to listen/deal with problems if a child
requires help.
•Be prepared to do a rotation of the following duties between all
members of staff: waking the children up, break times,
mealtimes, supervision pool times, night monitor duties.
•Maintain parent/tutor contact when required on site or via
telephone (if and when required by the Director).
•Chaperone the students on offsite-excursions, following safety
instructions from the course coordinator/ director.
•Attend all staff meetings.
•Set up and participate in evening activities.
•Be responsible for the materials provided for the Course for
any activity organised.
•Keep all areas clean and tidy.

Summer Camps: 1 year (Preferrable)
CERTIFICATES OR DEGREES
· High School diploma required.
· Monitor/a de actividades de tiempo libre.
· Cerificación de Socorrista
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Must be 18 years of age or older.
· Some physical demand or athletic ability is necessary.
DOCUMENTATION
· Valid Spanish DNI/NIE (Residency) or Permission to work within the EU (Student NIE's are not accepted)
· Criminal Record / Certificate of Sexual offences (with less than 3 months of expedition)
