Job Title : Corporate Strategy Senior Manager
Strategic Projects Unit delivers analysis on complex strategic issues, supports the ExCom to define the strategy at Corporate level, identifies main threats and opportunities, and supports the definition/implementation of key organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
As part of the Strategic Projects team, the Corporate Strategy Senior Manager will directly:
1. Guide highly sensitive & confidential strategy projects in complex environments
2. Clarify project expectations and align on recommendations with ExCom members
3. Present recommendations to ExCom/Business Unit Heads
4. Mentor team members in framing & delivering strategic analysis
5. Engage with internal/external stakeholders to achieve successful project delivery
Main responsibilities
1. Strategic projects
1. Guide complex strategic studies on areas with significant influence on the company (e.g., business model changes, re-organizations, spin-offs, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Projects of this magnitude have the ExCom as a client, involve many senior stakeholders, and take place in politically-charged environments.
2. Frame the study, ensure adequate staffing, and align on high-level timelines & deliveries. Manage the project using best practices, present findings and recommendations to appropriate decision groups.
3. Identify promising/emerging growth opportunities, determining market attractiveness, strategic fit, and executional feasibility, and share results with executive management.
4. Facilitate the execution of strategic recommendations through adequate hand-over, stakeholder engagement, and acting as an external advisor when requested. In some cases, participate in the evaluation of specific M&A targets.
2. People & Talent Management
1. Coordinate virtual teams of internal/external stakeholders to deliver projects, setting objectives, steering content, identifying threats & removing roadblocks, creating development opportunities for participants, providing timely feedback, and participating in the performance assessment of team members.
2. Oversee direct reports’ annual performance reviews, coordinating feedback from project leaders, identifying development areas & providing coaching. Identify top talent and ensure retention via ad-hoc career planning.
3. Guide or participate in recruitment processes of the department.
3. Stakeholder engagement (internal & external)
1. Develop and maintain internal/external network to facilitate strategic projects execution (e.g., gathering feedback from external experts, ensuring access to data, aligning stakeholders, etc.)
2. Represent Amadeus at external conferences and work groups on behalf of Amadeus within multilateral organizations/industry bodies, advancing Amadeus agenda through timely communication & action.
3. Develop relationships with top-tier universities to improve corporate awareness and ensure a healthy pipeline of candidates.
About the ideal candidate
1. University Degree with Master in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)/business/economics and/or MBA with excellent academic results.
2. 10+ years of experience in a management position in top-tier strategy consultancy or strategy departments of large corporations.
3. Good understanding of Strategy and Planning functions in large international companies with strategy toolkit to understand and solve complex business issues.
4. High level of knowledge of the Travel and IT industries would be beneficial
5. Fluency in English.
