We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our team and play a key role in overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring effective controls, and driving strategic growth. Your Role
As a Financial Controller at THEKER, you will manage and optimize financial processes, ensure stability, and provide insights for decision-making. You will collaborate across departments—robotics, AI, and operations—aligning financial strategy with innovation and compliance. A key focus will be preparing and structuring funding rounds, including grants, equity investments, and venture capital engagements, overseeing financial due diligence, investor relations, and ensuring projections support THEKER’s growth and market positioning.
Main Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and present accurate financial statements, balance sheets, profit/loss reports, and cash flow analyses
- Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts. Monitor variances and recommend corrective measures to align with our strategic goals
- Financial Strategy & Advisory
Provide strategic financial guidance to the leadership team. Support and lead fundraising efforts, including grant applications, equity rounds, and venture capital negotiations.
- Cash Flow & Liquidity Management
Maintain optimal cash flow to meet operational and investment needs. Monitor and manage liquidity and banking relationships.
- Risk Management
Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies. Participate in contract reviews and negotiations, ensuring favorable financial terms.
- Process Improvement
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance efficiency in financial processes through automation and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in managing investment rounds and working with startups, including financial due diligence, investor relations, and fundraising strategy.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work autonomously on cross-functional projects.
- Willingness to reside in Barcelona or relocate to this city or its surroundings.
Desirable Skills (Not Mandatory):
- Experience working in a tech startup environment or fast-growing company.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced financial analysis tools.
- Track record of process improvement initiatives or implementation of automation tools.
- Knowledge of international business operations and multi-currency reporting.
