Aquila Clean Energy is Aquila Group's company responsible for the development and construction of the Solar PV and Wind portfolio in Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Greece. The company currently develops more than 50 projects with over 2.6 GW of renewable power in the Iberian market (Spain and Portugal) and 30 more projects (around 1.5 GW) in Italy and Greece. For our office in Madrid, we are looking for a Senior Financial Controller .
Your responsibilities
* Review the accuracy of the accounting books and financial statements and be responsible for accurate and timely submissions of monthly financial reports and treasury control reports.
* Design and implement analytical accounting: work with coding trees and budgeting items.
* Be responsible for Companies' Annual Accounts and the Audit Report.
* Coordinate with external providers (e.g., accountants, auditors, lawyers, banks).
* Create and develop internal financial controls, evaluating their robustness, reasonableness, and implementation.
* Ensure compliance with all mandatory requirements of the company.
Minimum Requirements
* Degree in Business Administration, ideally with a focus on Finance or Economics.
* Professional experience of 6-8 years in a similar position within Finance, ideally including 3-4 years of experience in auditing at an accounting firm (Big Four).
* Knowledge of HGB (German GAAP); knowledge of IFRS and experience in Renewables is valuable.
* Knowledge of taxation topics and regulations is relevant; experience in Renewables is valuable.
* Strong analytical skills and a very good understanding of numbers.
* Precise and reliable working method coupled with high autonomy, commitment, implementation strength, and flexibility.
* Able to manage workloads, prioritize tasks, and work through strict deadlines.
* Fluency in German and English; Spanish is highly valuable. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
