We invite you to join us as the Corporate Accounting Team Lead / Manager of Governance for project accounting and help us align with our accounting standards and provide meaningful & insightful information to our Management. You will collaborate with other leaders to drive and deliver department-wide improvement initiatives. As a team member who operates in a highly complex accounting & reporting landscape, you will continuously drive initiatives to improve and optimize our system and process landscape. What role will you play?
* Liaise with our entire SMO finance organization and experts in CF R HQ to ensure proper accounting treatment for a highly sophisticated project business.
* Serve as the interface to the business, owning technical accounting research and the implementation of new accounting standards.
* Stay abreast of new projects, business opportunities, and emerging accounting guidance.
* Draft memos and liaise with senior management and external auditors on complex technical accounting issues.
* Coach our globally distributed team by creating and delivering training around existing and new accounting guidance.
* Partner with various teams to provide upfront consultations on new deals and support complex contract reviews to ensure compliance with IFRS.
What do you need to qualify for this job?
* Minimum 7 to 10 years in public or corporate technical accounting at a large, publicly held company, coupled with expertise in FRG interpretation.
* Clear understanding of percentage of completion (POC) accounting (construction project accounting).
* Degree from an accredited college/university in Finance or Accounting or equivalent.
* Excellent interpersonal savvy and executive presence, including written, verbal, and presentation skills.
* Leadership ability to explain sophisticated accounting topics and financial results to senior leadership.
* Exceptional critical thinking skills with the capability to break down complex problems, determine root cause issues, and develop systemic solutions.
* Experience in leading and coaching hardworking global teams and managing cross-functional projects.
* Previous experience as a Commercial Project Manager is a plus.
* Language skills: Mandatory English fluent speaker, Spanish is a value added.
