About Bugster
Bugster is an innovative startup revolutionizing QA automation with AI-powered testing agents. We’re looking for a Marketing Developer to take ownership of our marketing efforts and scale our brand's reach. This is a contractor role through Deel, working closely with the team to drive developer adoption, content strategy, and community engagement while laying the foundation for future marketing growth.
We’re launching on Product Hunt in 2 months, and while you'll play a role in making that launch successful, this position is not just about launch day—we're looking for someone to experiment, build scalable marketing strategies, and help grow Bugster long-term.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Strategy
1. Develop and execute a content roadmap beyond the Product Hunt launch, focusing on sustainable growth.
2. Write and optimize SEO-friendly blogs targeting developers and early adopters.
3. Create engaging social media content for LinkedIn and Twitter, including memes, thought leadership posts, and product updates.
4. Experiment with viral loops, content-driven growth tactics, and new marketing channels.
5. Continuously refine messaging and positioning for Bugster across blog posts, landing pages, and marketing assets.
Product Hunt Launch & Growth Experiments
1. Support the Product Hunt GTM strategy, including teaser campaigns, launch-day coordination, and post-launch follow-ups.
2. Help craft taglines, visuals, explainer videos, and product descriptions for the launch.
3. Engage with developer communities to drive visibility before, during, and after the launch.
4. Test and iterate on marketing experiments to find scalable strategies for acquisition and engagement.
Developer Relations (DevRel) & Community Growth
1. Build relationships with early adopters and developer communities through outreach and engagement.
2. Represent Bugster in relevant forums and Q&A platforms (Reddit, Stack Overflow, Hacker News).
3. Gather and analyze developer feedback to refine messaging and content strategies.
4. Develop and experiment with community-led growth initiatives, leveraging user engagement for organic expansion.
SEO & Analytics
1. Own the SEO strategy, including keyword research, content optimization, and tracking performance.
2. Maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent publishing of impactful blogs and articles.
3. Monitor and improve KPIs, such as organic traffic, social media engagement, and conversions.
Scaling Marketing & Future Growth
1. Go beyond short-term launch efforts by experimenting with scalable marketing strategies.
2. Lead and evolve the marketing function as Bugster grows, including helping building out a marketing team.
3. Stay ahead of trends and explore new GTM approaches, ensuring Bugster continues to differentiate itself in the market.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Skills
1. Experience in marketing, DevRel, or GTM roles, preferably in developer-focused products.
2. Strong understanding of SEO, content marketing, and social media strategies.
3. Excellent writing skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for developers.
4. Experience engaging with developer communities through forums, blogs, or social platforms.
5. Ability to run experiments on virality, marketing loops, and developer engagement strategies.
6. Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics tools to track and iterate on marketing performance.
7. Autonomy and leadership skills, with the ability to take ownership of marketing and help scale the team over time.
Nice-to-Have Skills
1. Experience with Product Hunt launches and bottom-up marketing approaches (or willingness to learn).
2. Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Figma) to create marketing assets.
3. Background in software development or an understanding of developer workflows.
Why Join Bugster?
1. You'll play a key role in shaping the marketing direction of a fast-growing devtool startup.
2. You’ll have the freedom to experiment, own marketing initiatives, and drive real growth.
3. We’re building for developers, and you’ll be at the forefront of engaging a highly technical audience.
4. As Bugster scales, so does this role—you’ll have the opportunity to lead and expand the marketing function over time.
If you're excited about scaling marketing from the ground up, experimenting with growth strategies, and helping build an AI-powered dev tool that developers love, we’d love to hear from you!
