Fluor Plant Engineering office is part of the E&C Energy Solutions Sustaining Capital Projects Business Line. We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer to support our regional team (Spain) in Tarragona Home Office.
This position supports the E&I department on assigned projects through the following Key Responsibilities:
* Perform and check calculations for simple equipment, and solve problems of basic to moderate engineering complexity.
* Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution.
* Develop estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantity tracking reports.
* Identify deviations in job scope, estimate magnitude of changes, and initiate trends or change orders.
* Interface with project disciplines and client representatives.
* Develop and build client relations promoting Client Service Excellence.
* Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting.
* Assist in the review of vendor lists, preparation of quotation requests, bid tabulations, purchase orders, and considerations for substitutions for technical acceptability.
* Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
* Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
* Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff.
* Prepare/review scopes of work for third party contracts.
* Perform control systems sizing calculations for control valves, relief valves, flow elements, thermowells, and other instrumentation.
* Create instrument index, datasheets, and generate reports in Intergraph SmartPlant Instrumentation database.
* Develop control systems narrative specifications.
* Acquire basic knowledge to develop control systems logic diagrams and/or cause and effect diagrams.
* Develop control systems estimates and report on control systems progress.
* Develop specifications and design of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) hardware and software applications and implementation in software configuration.
