PRODUCT DEVELOPER APPAREL / FINISHED CLOTHING / PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (QUALITY AND TIMINGS)
With a Head Office in Galicia, Spain, from where we manage all our purchasing, but with adjacent offices in London, Portugal and Paris, Miista is currently looking for an Apparel Product Developer, with extensive experience in quality control, production management and price negotiations, especially for the categories of Knitwear, Denim and Leather Accessories/ Leather Clothing. These categories will be the focus of the role.
The product developer will be responsible for ensuring that each of the designs belonging to the apparel or accessories categories above are produced to the desired specifications, quality and price, whilst coordinating its raw materials and production critical path in a timely manner, and working closely with internal teams, including design, production, finance and merchandising.
We are looking for this candidate to join our product team (apparel) based in A Coruña / Galicia. This position requires travelling at least once o per month mainly to visit our external suppliers in other areas of Spain and Portugal, overseeing mainly sampling, price negotiations, testing and fittings, and working in collaboration with our product and buying team in Galicia.

Main tasks and responsibilities, but no limited to:
To manage/control (as key responsibility) the Production Critical Path for the above Apparel Categories, always making sure the key dates agreed for each of the check points during the supply chain are followed, especially technical check points like materials testing and fittings – during technical design, pre-production and during production, for each of the external factories and supplier we work with.
To manage pre-production fittings and requirements of design adjustments with the external suppliers for the categories above, both in Spain and Portugal – this is during fitting of samples, following up patterns and corrections with each of the external factories, size sets and gradings checks, construction checks, material checks etc.
* To support the design team during the period of design & development period of new collections for the categories above, both in Spain and Portugal. Acting as the main communicator in between Miista and external suppliers, making sure all design ideas are achieved/realised as close and initial concept as possible. In collaboration with the Design Team develop and manage Technical Specifications (SPECS) of samples and production for the different categories.
* Negotiation of raw material prices with current and new suppliers.
* Negotiation of finish product price and production stots / dates, finding solutions to achieve correct margins for each of the categories, without compromising quality or function on an obvious way.
* To manage raw material order for the above categories where it is required for the external suppliers both for Sampling and Production.Quality control of the materials and different components, while the external factories that produce for Miista receive them.Quality control inside the production line of the factories we manufacture with at least twice per season, before the production is fully finished. Controlling that the different processes are correctly followed in the production line of Different suppliers, including correct packing instructions and labelling.Meet weekly with the Team regarding the sample approval status in order to maintain company time/action calendars later for production
