About the role
Reporting to the Global Payroll Manager, the Global Payroll Specialist is responsible for performing and supervising all activities necessary to ensure the accuracy and timely processing of the US and Mexico payrolls. You would be an excellent fit for this role if you are diligent and well versed in payroll compliance for the US and Mexico. While not required to be the successful candidate, if you had experience with UK and Canadian payroll that would be a plus.
Reporting to the Global Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist is accountable for the payrolls' day-to- day operations, payroll tax and accounting, as well as internal/external audits. Your core focus would be ensuring the accuracy of our Mexican and United States payroll. Providing secondary coverage for UK and Canada would be a plus and we would provide mentorship for you to learn these jurisdictions on the job.
What you"ll do
* Full cycle processing Mexican and United States payrolls in a timely and accurate manner, including benefits reconciliation.
* Payroll changes to include, but not limited to salary/wages increases, benefit deductions, employee terminations and Record of Employment.
* Review/reconcile quarterly and year-end payroll reports including W2's and other required reporting.
* Reconcile the monthly benefit reports
* Prepare and balance the payroll Journal entries
* Stays up to date of regulatory changes which impact the payroll function
* Provide the Finance team with ad hoc reports, as required
* Support and collaborate inter-departmentally
Qualifications
* 2+ years of Mexican and United States payroll experience
* Payroll Accounting knowledge a plus
* ADP Workforce Now and Rippling experience is an asset
* Exposure to international payroll preferred (or willing to learn)
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Collaborative and has an excellent customer service skills
* Strong sense of urgency, accountability, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
* Excellent communication skills
* Highly organized and great time management skills - you're able to juggle multiple priorities at once
* Continuous improvement mindset to streamline payroll processes.
