Who we are:
The Federal Office of Family Affairs and Civil Society Functions, or BAFzA for short, serves as a guide to social coexistence in our country. As a subordinate authority, the Federal Office is part of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ). The core competencies of the BAFzA include grant management, dealing with vulnerable groups, and providing services for the BMFSFJ. The portfolio focuses on the Federal Voluntary Service, commitment, the promotion of democracy, violence and discrimination, care, and the acceptance and protection of diversity. The BAFzA sees diversity as an opportunity.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a member of the "IT Development" unit to start as soon as possible.
Depending on your qualifications, you will be graded up to pay group 11 of the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD Bund approx. EUR 3,895 to approx. EUR 5,975). An IT specialist allowance of up to EUR 1,000 gross per month can be granted if you have the relevant professional experience.
The employment relationship is initially limited until 30.06.2026, with a permanent position intended.
What tasks you will take on:
* You will develop (web) applications in Java.
* You maintain and optimize existing software.
* You design and work with SQL databases.
* You are the technical contact person within the IT group.
What you bring to the table:
* You have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable course of study, or you can demonstrate professional experience in software development.
* You have good programming skills in Java and the Spring Framework.
* You have experience with JSF frameworks such as PrimeFaces or JS frameworks such as Angular JS.
* You have experience in the development and design of micro and web services with REST interfaces.
* You have experience with version management, build processes, and common software development systems (Jira, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes or similar).
* You can work effectively with databases and various operating systems.
* You have experience with agile software development processes and test-driven development.
* You are interested in good and interdisciplinary cooperation and enjoy varied tasks.
* You speak and write fluent German (C1 level desirable).
If you have obtained a foreign university degree, please enclose proof of recognition of the degree by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) with your application documents.
You are willing to undergo a security check in accordance with the Federal Security Check Act (SÜG).
