JOB POSITION : JUNIOR RESEARCHER (I-PI 30-25)
Applications are invited by the University of Alicante President to participate in a recruitment process for research staff (contract type: open-ended contract; job category: PhD junior researcher) to collaborate with the funded line of research “Design of data spaces and open data management”. Reference: I-PI 30-25
First. General terms.
1. The purpose of this call is to recruit research staff (job category: PhD junior researcher) in the framework of the projects included in the funded line of research “Design of data spaces and open data management”.
2. Unit in charge of the line of research: University Institute for Computer Research.
3. The first project in which the successful applicant(s) will collaborate, as well as the number of available vacancies and the characteristics of the job role, are set out in the annex hereto.
Second. Requirements for applicants.
Applicants must:
* Hold or be in the process of obtaining a PhD (Spanish MECES level 4 or EQF level 8).
* Hold or be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering or in Multimedia Engineering (Spanish MECES level 2 or EQF level 6) plus an official Master’s degree in Data Science (Spanish MECES level 3 or EQF level 7) or any other official Master’s degree with equivalent content.
* Have a document confirming that the relevant official approval or statement of comparability has been secured for qualifications obtained overseas.
* Language: B2 level of English.
* Be a Spanish national or be in one of the situations listed in article 57 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015.
* Be at least 16 years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.
* Possess the physical and mental capacities necessary for the performance of the corresponding functions.
* Not have been dismissed by disciplinary proceedings from the service of any of the Public Administrations.

ANNEX: purpose of call I-PI 30-25 and job profile
Project TSI-100121-2024-24 funded by the Spanish Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Function and by the European Union-Next GenerationEU / PRTR
1. First project in which the successful applicant will collaborate:
1. Name of the project: “HELEADE (Wetlands as generators of environmental and economic value through a territorialised data space)”.
2. Number of job vacancies: one.
3. 1.3. Job position: PhD junior researcher.
4. 1.4. Working hours: 37.5 hours/week in morning/afternoon sessions.
5. 1.5. Remuneration: €3,000 gross/monthly (plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations).
1.6. Tasks to be carried out:
* Development of a data space for wetlands that are part of protected natural areas.
* Incorporation of data search and discovery systems into the data space.
* Development of artificial intelligence techniques to improve data search in the data space.
* Dissemination of the project results through scientific publications.
* Any other task related to the project that requires proper data management.
Third. Job profile.
Preference will be given to those with:
* Experience and training related to the tasks listed in section 2 of this annex.
* Knowledge of English. Only levels higher than that required in section 2 will be considered.
* Knowledge of Catalan.
* Qualification: Official Master’s degree in Data Science or any other official Master’s degree with equivalent content.
