Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. is recruiting for a Global Lead of Maintenance & Reliability, based in a J&J manufacturing site in Athens GA, Gurabo PR, Cork IR, Leiden NL, Beerse/Geel BE, Schaffhausen CH, or Latina IT. This position is required to be on site 3 days per week.

Position Summary:
The Global Lead of Maintenance & Reliability owns the global maintenance strategy that aligns with the company’s overarching objectives, including those related to manufacturing, operational excellence, and asset reliability. This leadership position is responsible for driving innovation in maintenance practices, enhancing reliability engineering, and advancing maintenance capabilities through predictive and preventive approaches, aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. The successful candidate will ensure that maintenance functions align with overall business objectives and regulatory compliance while continuously improving operational efficiency and asset reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive global maintenance strategy that focuses on long-term asset reliability, cost efficiency, and operational excellence, and is aligned with IMSC and MTO Strategy as well as Site Strategies.
2. Lead and oversee the implementation of the Assets Management Framework and maturity roadmaps.
3. Standardize maintenance practices and tools across all global sites to ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations.
4. Lead efforts to improve equipment reliability, availability, and performance by developing and implementing reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and total productive maintenance (TPM) programs.
5. Spearhead the transformation of maintenance practices from reactive to predictive and preventive maintenance through advanced technologies (e.g., IoT, AI-based predictive analytics).
6. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance performance across global sites, including metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, downtime, and maintenance costs.
7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize these KPIs and report progress to senior leadership regularly.
8. Work closely with operations, quality, finance, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure that maintenance strategies are aligned with production goals, safety standards, and business objectives.
9. Foster strong relationships with external vendors and technology partners to enhance maintenance capabilities.
10. Streamline information flows and handovers across functions, such as project handover into operations/maintenance.
11. Lead and develop a high-performing global maintenance organization (indirect reporting relationship), fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
12. Mentor and coach maintenance leaders and talents direct reports, ensuring the development of future maintenance leaders.
13. Ensure all maintenance strategies, standards and practices comply with global regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA), industry standards (e.g., GMP), and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related field is preferred.
2. A minimum of 15 years of experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, or asset management roles within multi-layered global organizations, including at least 5 years of regional or global leadership experience is required.
3. Extensive experience in global maintenance management in a regulated environment, ideally within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industries is required.
4. Proven track record of leading large-scale maintenance transformations, including the adoption of predictive maintenance strategies and advanced technologies (e.g., IoT, AI, machine learning) for asset management is required.
5. Hands-on experience with the development and monitoring of key KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, downtime, maintenance costs) and driving continuous improvements based on data insights is required.
6. Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements (FDA, GMP) is required.
7. Experience in managing large, geographically dispersed teams is required.
8. This position is required to be on site 3 days per week and requires up to 25% domestic and international travel, based on business needs.
