Based in our offices in La Coruña, the Director of Insights & Data Analytics is responsible for managing, developing and integrating data analytics tools properly so insights and market trends can be derived efficiently.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Identify and prioritize key data initiatives and projects based on business needs and impact and develop and implement the overall analytics strategy and roadmap aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
2. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
3. Establish data analytics best practices.
4. Communicate business insights and project goals, and create and present data visualizations.
5. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of analytics initiatives.
6. Integrate vast arrays of data sources, ensuring high data quality and relevance to extract meaningful business insights.
7. Oversee the design and execution of complex data analyses and predictive models.
8. Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
9. Set the vision for data, analytics, and insights at an enterprise level, including identifying white spaces for innovation and understanding macro trends.
10. Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of data utilized in analyses and reporting.
11. Foster a culture of data-driven decision making within the organization and promote the use of analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
12. Translate complex datasets into actionable insights to drive marketing and product development strategies.
13. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure insights are integrated into business plans and strategies, and to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights.
14. Conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies, including surveys, focus groups, and A/B testing.
15. Monitor and report on industry trends and competitor activities that may impact consumer behavior.
16. Create a robust framework for making informed, consumer-centered business decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in data analysis, data mining, machine learning or programming.
2. Previous experience in managing teams.
3. Excellent communication (with their direct reports as well as with executive leadership), presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
4. Experience working with data analytics and data visualization tools.
5. Proficiency in analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Microstrategy.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically with passion for data and strong desire to drive data-driven decision-making.
7. Excellent time management and attention to detail.
8. An experienced leader who can inspire teams and make decisive choices, with the ability to nurture positive ties with all staff members.
9. Fluent in English.
