Were looking for a passionate marketing leader in Valencia to help propel our brand even further. In this role, youll lead the way on all things digitalmanaging our website, blog, and social media channels to make sure our story reaches far and wide. Youll also design, develop, measure, and control advertising caigns, all while driving direct customer acquisition. Were looking for someone to lead marketing for the Octopus Energy domestic retail business in Spain, but there are probably some things you should know We dont use agencies we really dont, not for creative, production, or even media. Weve a fabulous team of in house designers, UX, writers, and front enders. We do our own media buying. You could say, in fact, that were half agency, but were your most favourite ever client, the one you secretly yearned to work at. Were pretty obsessive. We think about our customers a lot. A lot a lot. We answer emails from customers, we join in on social media (and I mean we, as leaders do), we think constantly about what makes great experiences, great stories and great reasons for people to join us. Were looking for someone whos worked their way round the marketing mix and can trot out some good metrics, but actually, what you really really know, is humans. You can put together a brand pyramid, but it makes you cry inside a little bit, because actually you feel what a brand is, why people choose it (even where that might seem illogical), and youre just a little bit fascinated about why people make the choices they do. Youve led a team, and we dont mean just managing FTEs youll happily work with no direct reports, because your enthusiasm means awesome people will follow you, and youll get stuff done. Youll have direct reports but you wont measure your worth in how many, in fact the opposite. Youre a grafter, but youre a smart grafter, you put effort where you know it delivers the most value writing out an agenda for a meeting kills a little bit of your soul. Youve a burning desire to turn your skills to something meaningful. You enjoy the pace of the commercial world, but youd rather not flog FMCG anymore, youd want to be delivering something more sustainable to the world. And finally. We have to be honest, we find that people from traditional businesses often struggle here. We dont work to backlogs, we dont write business cases but we prioritise effectiveness and efficiency above all else. We expect accountability without process, and responsibility without functional shoulder pads. We get stuff done by knowing whats right, and sometimes thats hard.
