What We're Looking For:
We are seeking a Senior Software & Blockchain Developer to architect and develop the data layer of the Share Protocol, a decentralized system designed to bring connectivity to 600 million unconnected people in Africa. This role is pivotal in integrating a custom routing protocol with a scalable data infrastructure that enables seamless coordination between the Data Layer, Blockchain Layer, and Application Layer.
As a full-stack engineer with deep backend expertise and strong front-end capabilities, you will play a key role in designing and implementing the Operations Support System / Business Support System (OSS/BSS), ensuring smooth interactions between decentralized data networks and telecommunication software.
You will work closely with our Senior Network Engineer, designing a robust architecture that enables verifiable data integrity, API-driven integrations, and decentralized storage solutions to power Share’s ecosystem at scale.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Data Layer Architecture & Development
* Design, build, and optimize a distributed data infrastructure that supports real-time routing decisions, data validation, and network analytics.
* Develop scalable, decentralized data storage solutions leveraging IPFS, MongoDB, and other distributed database technologies.
* Implement a high-performance API ecosystem to connect the Physical, Data, Blockchain, and Application Layers, ensuring seamless interoperability.
* Optimize the Share routing protocol’s data pipeline to provide real-time network intelligence and validation for both Web2 and Web3 applications.
* Establish data verification and cryptographic integrity mechanisms, ensuring that data reported from network nodes is tamper-proof before it enters the blockchain layer.
Blockchain & Web3 Integration
* Design and implement the backend architecture that facilitates seamless interaction between off-chain storage (IPFS, decentralized databases) and on-chain smart contracts.
* Develop RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints to integrate blockchain-based reward systems, enabling decentralized validation of network performance.
* Work with smart contract developers to implement decentralized validation mechanisms, including Proof of Backhaul, Proof of Location, and node contribution tracking.
* Ensure data integrity and immutability using cryptographic hashing, public-private key encryption, and blockchain ledger synchronization.
Operations Support System/Business Support System (OSS/BSS)
* Lead the development of OSS/BSS platforms that provide real-time network monitoring, automated billing, and service management.
* Integrate telecom-specific APIs (e.g., RADIUS, Diameter, SIP) to enable seamless coordination with network operators and infrastructure providers.
* Build scalable microservices architectures to support multi-tenant operations across diverse markets, allowing for dynamic provisioning of connectivity services.
* Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) and identity management to facilitate secure user onboarding and management within the Share ecosystem.
API & Software Interoperability
* Architect high-performance APIs that connect network nodes, cloud services, and blockchain infrastructure.
* Develop real-time event-driven data processing systems to optimize data synchronization.
* Design and implement API gateways that support authentication, rate limiting, and security best practices for cross-platform integrations.
Scalability, Performance, and Security
* Ensure the system is fault-tolerant, self-healing, and scalable, capable of handling millions of nodes and transactions per second.
* Implement real-time telemetry and performance monitoring solutions to ensure continuous optimization of data flow and resource allocation.
* Develop robust encryption, access control, and data verification frameworks to maintain the integrity and privacy of network data.

Qualifications & Technical Background:
Core Development & Architecture
* 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on distributed systems and blockchain technologies.
* Expertise in decentralized data storage (IPFS, Filecoin), NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra), and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
* Strong proficiency in backend languages such as Go, Rust, Python, or Node.js.
* Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for scalable microservices deployment.
Blockchain & Web3 Experience
* Understanding of smart contract development, particularly for EVMs, Solana, or Cosmos ecosystems.
* Experience integrating off-chain and on-chain data, leveraging oracles, cryptographic proofs, and decentralized identity (DID) protocols.
* Familiarity with zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), Verifiable Random Functions (VRFs), and consensus mechanisms.
API & System Integration
* Strong knowledge of API design, RESTful and GraphQL services, and middleware solutions for seamless connectivity between decentralized and telecom ecosystems.
* Familiarity with telecom-specific protocols (RADIUS, Diameter, SIP, etc.) and their integration into backend architectures.
* Experience with real-time messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, WebSockets) for high-throughput data exchange.
Security & Compliance
* Proficiency in implementing public-private key cryptography, HMAC, and secure authentication.
* Experience designing privacy-preserving systems using encryption standards such as AES-256, TLS, and Secure Multi-Party Computation (MPC).
* Understanding of GDPR, data sovereignty, and compliance considerations for large-scale data networks.
Front-End & User Interface
* Strong understanding of modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue.js) to assist in dashboard development for network monitoring and analytics.
* Familiarity with real-time visualization libraries (D3.js, Three.js, WebGL) for interactive data representation.
