The Database Engineer (PostgreSQL) role carries the pivotal responsibility of overseeing and preserving the integrity and performance of the company's intricate database systems. This multifaceted role encompasses a spectrum of critical tasks, including the establishment and maintenance of high availability infrastructure, meticulous database replication management, robust backup and recovery procedures, precise performance optimization, astute capacity planning, vigilant monitoring, and comprehensive documentation.

Responsibilities
1. Construct and uphold database systems characterized by superior availability and quality, tailored to the specific requirements of individual applications.
2. Devise and execute database designs in alignment with the information needs and different perspectives.
3. Define user profiles and facilitate the dissemination of data to the appropriate recipients in a suitable format and with promptness.
4. Configure diverse database replication strategies to ensure seamless data synchronization.
5. Utilize high-speed transaction recovery methods and proficiently manage data backups.
6. Efficiently mitigate database downtime while optimizing parameters for swift query response times.
7. Facilitate the transfer of knowledge within the team to foster collective expertise.
8. Provide proactive and reactive support for data management, ensuring data security, privacy, and integrity.
9. Establish, enforce, and meticulously document database policies, procedures, and standards.
10. Regularly conduct tests and evaluations to safeguard data security and maintain data integrity.
11. Vigilantly monitor database performance, implement necessary modifications, and apply updates and patches as required.
12. Stay well-informed about emerging database technologies.
13. Generate on-demand reports as requested by business users.
14. Offer 24x7 support for critical production systems, participating in an on-call rotation schedule when necessary.
Minimum Requirements
1. A minimum of three years of experience in the field, with a preference for experience in organizations operating within industries such as i-gaming or e-commerce.
2. Proficiency in PostgreSQL open-source database technologies is essential - preferably with both On-prem and RDS (AWS) experience. Familiarity with other relational database management systems (RDBMSs) like Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL is considered advantageous.
3. Hands-on experience working with database standards and managing latency-sensitive user applications.
4. Excellent expertise in data backup, recovery, security, data integrity, and SQL.
5. Competence in database design, documentation, and coding practices.
6. Prior exposure to Database Administrator case tools, both frontend and backend, as well as familiarity with third-party database tools.
7. Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues effectively.
8. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well in a team and adapt to different approaches.
9. Strong organizational and independent work planning skills.
