Job Description:
A. IDENTIFICATION:
Job title: Specialist Maintenance Technician - Automation & Robotic Improvement Projects
B. LIABILITIES:
Specialist Maintenance Technicians will be accountable for the global maintenance of NC, PLC and, in general, Industrial Automation Control Systems. They must assure compliance with industrial assets performance targets through the following actions:
The definition of these activities is according to European standard EN 15628: about Maintenance-Qualification of maintenance staff and the Industrial Assets Management Airbus strategy.
B.1 Customer Focus:
Ensure the Industrial Means Technician Availability through following and resolution of incidents based on their category:
Responsible for updating and modifying the industrial means after incidents/breakdowns of level 3 and 4, ensuring the availability and start-up of the assets under every safety and reliability standard parameter.
Carry out the following of industrial assets updates and modifications after incidents of level 1, 2 and 5, ensuring the availability and start-up of the assets under every safety and reliability standard parameter.
In case of incidents of level 1, 2 and 5, be responsible for contacting external suppliers (maintenance services or OEMs) managing any action plan to be performed. Also support remote or on-site incident solving or planned maintenance, coordinating these activities with manufacturing managers.
Take liability for the quality maintenance tasks performed and the documental traceability within the CMMS.
Control spare parts and assure their availability across the CMMS.
Follow up, manage and scale the maintenance action and risk within the plant MFT like TPM/SQCDP/APTs.
Maintenance Levels:
Level 1: Simple actions, lubrication and inspections that can be performed by the machine operator if necessary.
Level 2: Adjustments and replacements of simple components.
Level 3: Complex adjustments, replacements of components or subassemblies requiring:
o Procedures (work processes, etc.).
o Support equipment (standard or specific tools).
o Qualified personnel for the task to be performed.
Level 4: Complex operations implying knowledge of procedures, control of specific technologies, use of specialized support equipment and/or specific tools (highly qualified personnel).
Level 5: Refurbishment, retrofit (that level would be managed alike to new industrial assets acquisition).
B.2 Processes
Responsible for assessing the safety risk before maintenance tasks are performed.
Ensure that mitigation and solving measures have been taken against the safety risks detected.
Propose and develop Improvement Ideas or innovations for the processes based on the knowledge and technical skills required in point "C".
Create procedures and protocols for the industrial means according to legal requirements.
Perform analysis of the most relevant incidents and the most common errors of the means and propose preventive actions.
Check and assure the Preventive Maintenance adherence to the plan.
Participate in acquisition processes for new industrial means according to internal regulations FU. IN 03.03 and FU. IN Check and validate technical documentation and commissioning processes.
Develop Technical Specifications.
B.3 Economic:
Know the maintenance services and spare parts budgets, ensuring adherence and identifying financial risks.
B.4 People
Assure and foster Safe Culture within the working environment.
Transfer acquired knowledge to the rest of the staff as "On the job Trainer".
Be an example of Airbus values managing and collaborating with outsourced services under their scope.
C. COMPETENCE & KNOWLEDGE
Specialist Maintenance Technician must have specific knowledge and competence about PLC, CNC and Robots (Siemens, Beckhoff, Omron, Fanuc…) that allows them to develop the following tasks:
Machine electrics & automation basics.
Knowledge of machine technology & processes.
HMIs, SCADAs, machine connectivity.
Industrial Cybersecurity.
Mechanical Maintenance including software/hardware.
Realize manual movement in machinery and robots through PLC, CNC, HMI, SCADA and robots.
Diagnose and debug programming bugs in PLC, CNC, HMI, SCADA and robots.
Software programming (Step 7, Sinumerik, Twincat, Fanuc…).
Configure, realize and modify PLC, CNC, HMI, SCADA and robots.
Configure new hardware devices in field and OT networks.
Interpret workflow, electrical, pneumatic and mechanics diagrams and software programs.
Check working tolerance in CNC machines.
Calibration Quality Processes.
Furthermore, they must have the following knowledge:
High knowledge in software programming languages (KOP, AWL, CNC, GRAFCET, C++, FANUC…).
High knowledge about measuring systems, drilling, and NC machines.
High knowledge in Windows Operating Systems, Office tools, SAP PM and industrial protocols configuration.
High knowledge in reliability methods: RCM, RBD, FMEA.
Neutral knowledge in condition monitoring and predictive algorithms.
Basic knowledge in My SQL or SQL Server databases.
Basic knowledge in Artificial Vision.
Basic knowledge in OT Cybersecurity solutions.

The Specialist Maintenance Technician must know, report, and collaborate with the KPI compliance:
Technical Availability.
Mean Time Between Failures.
Mean Time To Repair.
OEE.
